Is anyone actually hiring the ATP-R folks?

They have risen... since I've been in the game anyways. Not as much as I/we think they should, be there's a marked difference between now and what I saw pre-07, or better yet '01 when I started flight training.
Counting inflation they've gone down.

Sort of, but back when I started flight school a lot of regionals required you to pay up front to play. I believe Comair required you to show up to class with a check for 10k at one point? (correct me if I'm wrong) I just heard of this while doing my PPL then, and Comair was the considered to be the "best" regional. Chautauqua (my current employer) required you to show up to training with a check also, then they switched to docking 200 bucks per pay check for like 6 years til the cost of the type was paid off, or 6 yrs. Then it went away completely. Heck, even FLX was pay to play to fly a 210 at one point. Ill admit that was all before my time as a Comm pilot or CFI. Gulfstream/Silver was the last to go away AFAIK.

Now guys are pissed because the bonus's aren't big enough. Just sayin'

Pay as in pay for the type rating they gave you?

I don't mind giving Blood Plasma or Sperm to earn extra cash to pay for a type rating, and opportunity to fly a shinny jet. I wouldn't mind getting paid in gum. I just want to fly and live my dream in a cockpit. :sarcasm:

To answer OP's question, yes & no. Yes it has just a bit. But when adjusted for inflation, I've read that wages have not risen statistically with inflation. So the answer is also a no.

Pretty much, and guys were lining at the door unfortunately. Again, this was standard at the time. CFIs chatted a lot around the school (01-03 when I was a noob doing my PPL), the concensus was that it would hopefully go away. I didn't know what to do at the time. I was hoping to CFI and if I couldn't get hired the regular way was hoping to land a gig flying a Lear or 402 down in FL without dropping 10,000. Fortunately it was gone by 06 when I was CFIing.

We'll crap I had no idea about that. Thank god that stopped being the norm. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the ATP stuff if you don't get the written and your 1500 in time. Ought to be interesting.
