Social media sucks. It leads to people not think for themselves, and establish clicks/groups with what they associate. Isn't that how the whole Hillary winning / Trump losing thing happened on social media? Then there's the narcissistic pictures like selfies. It also leads to "filming heroes" who stand around and film a tragedy occurring or about to occur, so they can put it on their social media for social points (or clicks), instead of actually helping out the distressed person(s). Or a plane evacuating and people are busy filming. Twitter and tweeting is also pointless. No matter what you do, someone somewhere is gonna get pissed off and let you know on twitter. I deleted my FB a long time ago, one of the best decisions I've made. If you're that important then we'll stay in touch via text and even pictures can be sent the same way.

There's a pilot whose writing I follow, IMO he's a good author. A Hawaiian Captain, and he wrote on the United Express Doctor incident on social media and the death of expert opinion:

Spot on!

Well sadly, this have/have not, Dickensian, Tale of Two Cities industry has lead to many making a lot of angry, emotional posts on social media.

It's a conundrum!

Should I keep my mouth shut, (don't post anything,) or should I show my ass and score mad internet points?

Hmm, Grandma used to say, "If you got nothing nice to say, don't say anything."

And, "It's better to let people think you're a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
