Just a quick note for those of you whom have been d/q'd from your medical and/or security clearance... I just want to say THERE'S HOPE!!!

For 2 years I have fought and fought to get my medical cleared, and now 2 years later and I can finally say I'm back in the game!! My original medical from my PEPCI that caused me to be disqualified has FINALLY been cleared, and now after getting a refresh I was able to resubmit my stuff!! I just resubmitted my SF-86 and am going to take my new MMPI (which BTW they have upped from 600 questions to 750 now), and will be doing my new medical this week! :rawk:

Long story short... if they disqualify you, don't stop fighting!! It'll take sweat, stress, a LOT of work, a LOT of time on the phone and on hold  ... but in the end IT WILL PAY OFF!!!!!

Good luck to those whom are still awaiting their AT-SAT invite, PEPCI invite, or their FOL!!! The wait IS worth it!!!

Congrats and way to stick with it. It took nearly 3 years and a whole lot of money for me to obtain my medical as well but like you said you gotta keep workin and jumpin through the hoops and it will all payoff.

If you dont mind me asking what was it for each of you that took so long to get cleared?
I was mis-diagnosed as having bipolar disorder about ten years ago. I had totally forgot about the whole thing till I went to get my medical and had to go through a bunch of testing/evaluations to show that I am infact not.

When he first found out, he got really depressed. Light some fires, tortured some animals. But then he got really, really excited and ran around for like 36 hours without slowing down. How anyone could've mistaken him for bipolar, I don't know.

almost 4 years ago my ex wife made an anonymous "tip" to the faa safety line and told em I had a "substance abuse" problem....subsequent 1st classs app denied. I hired some specialists to the tune of 3 grand and got it back in about 11 weeks under a one year special issuance....wheew! Biggest problem though....in the process the carrier that I had been at for 11 months fired me for violation of rules during the last month of probation....

I only found out it was my ex about 6 months after the fact...

If you can prove it was your ex I would sue her till she had nothing left, not even a roof over her head. In fact I would probaly sue the FAA as well if they had no proof that you had a substance abuse problem yet still denied your application and cost you your job.

those thoughts did cross my mind...my ex is the mother of my kids..(whom i have custody of) and their right to a relationship w/her is more important to me. Sue the FAA? You ever try to sue the Federal gov't? Indeed, they had no proof, but an allegation must be investigated. Which is why I got the 1st class back so quickly. Besides..they were doing their due diligence in the situation....not everything can or should be fixed with a lawsuit.

That's the way to raise kids. Give them a good example. Heaven knows, they need something to offset the small mindedness shown by their mother.

Wish there were more people like you in the world.

:yeahthat:

I'm a CTI student who will graduate in May. I know I might fail the color portion of the medical for ATC, because I did not do well on the Ishihara plates. I might fail the Dvorine because it's ?similiar to the Ishihara. Would I be able to pass the AT-COV because I did pass the Farnsworth Lantern?
