I think it is a 15 year seniority base for sunny PSP!

Actually, CRJ was probably awarded Chicago, Denver or Colo. Springs. One of my roommates just upgraded at two years and got Denver.

Another roommate upgraded at the same time on the Brasilia. I don't know the exact dates, but it was just over a year. Of course, he'll be on reserve forever.

Here's a run down of seniority on the Captain RJ out of PSP:
Hire Dates

Rank in base
#1 May -1979
#2 Oct 1981
#7 July 1986
#16 May 1989
#17 May 1991
#18 Aug 1996

Keep in mind that the last three 16,17,18 are most likely on reserve.

I think the FO seniority is just as ugly. The most jr was hired 2.5 years ago.

And I'll be in PSP at noon on Friday. Whoo hoo!

Can't wait to baste in the sun, golf, then baste some more.

Hahahah...coming from the North Dakotan tundra, you won't know what to do with yourself in the Palm Springs heat! (Just checked the METAR, it's a balmy 71 F at 9 pm! Gotta love SoCal winters!

I would, but we are flying into ONT around 10 and then driving over. I will be there all week (11th-18th) so if you around then, just PM me and I'll find a way to get on JC.

Sorry to interrupt guys, but I am going back to the name of the thread.

SkyWest just released the standing bid awards for a bunch of upgrades and the most junior CRJ 200/700 Captain now was hired 2 years ago to the day!
They still don't pay while in training..but it is pretty cool to go from $19/hour to $60 in 2 years and of course PIC time is priceless.

BTW they are talking about increasing 700's pay in the new agreement (up to 12%). Will see what happens.

Make that upgrade 14 months now in the RJ! OMG

I don't see anywhere in our manuals that state it must be oneyear of service as a pilot. It just says one year of service. And when I check our company computer it says 1 year of service

[/ QUOTE ]

At ACA if you changed departments, you kept the seniority for pay, but went to year zero for bidding.

Rumor has it that today Skywest and Delta will announce the sale of ASA to Skywest. Of course, you know how rumors are....

When's your seat lock up, Omar?

I'm calling you out on that one. Show me proof, and I'll back you up. Otherwise, I'm pretty certain seat lock applies to upgrade as well.

We brief it every morning with the new interviewees. Seat lock does not apply to upgrade. If you meet the 2500 TT which includes 1000 121 crew-time and ATP written, you may upgrade.

When IAH opened up a couple years ago we had some under one year upgrades.

Here's from the Crew Policy Manual (SP323):

"1) Pilots may not be allowed to start a class for an equipment change (transition)
for a period of twelve (12) months after the commencement of the first day of
initial (new hire) ground school unless it is for the purposes of upgrade."

and

"B. Pilots who have not completed probation will be allowed to upgrade at the
Company’s discretion.
C. The Company reserves the right to relieve a Pilot from a freeze if operational
requirements determine that need."
