I had an interview set up with Horizon until another friend of mine went there for an interview and was told the projected upgrade time was 13 Years.
13 years?? Yikes! I've heard nothing but good things about this company but wow...

What can an FO expect to make on year one?
According to airlinepilotcentral, first year FO pay is about $27k, going up to about $36k 2nd year. With the current upgrade time of ~13 years, FO pay stops increasing at year 8, which is about $42k,
Not exactly, but thanks for playing.Which is more than Commutair Captain pay

Hey, it's very close I'll grant you, but a blanket statement that QX FOs make more than C5 Capts is inaccurate, unless you're comparing a C5 guy that sits reserve to a QX guy on a line and/or flies a lot.The butt hurt is strong with this one.
Oh really?Which is more than Commutair Captain pay
Oh really?
You are still comparing a Q200 to a Q400. Not exactly apples to apples.I'm wrong. It's incredibly close though. 2nd year Commutair CA - $43/hour; 2nd year Horizon FO - $40.

How many 2nd year CA's are on the Q400? I really shouldn't have posted anything in the first place though.
All QX captains are on the Q400...
I meant C5 and the 300. I'm done though.

Either way, at QX...you can actually afford to have your own apt on first year pay (and yes, that includes having food money/student loan money/going and having a beer money). .
I coulda sworn it was "mega-whacker." Silly jet pilots..My turbo-wacker regional is better than your turbo-wacker regional.
He's a stupid corp jet guy...so he wouldn't know...plus he's a ginger, and fat. Not Gulley fat, but still.I coulda sworn it was "mega-whacker." Silly jet pilots..
Already have HUD's and RNP .10 at QXI heard the other day that they(Horizon) will be taking over a bunch of Alaska's short hop routes around southeast Alaska... I don't know how that's gonna work out for em, what with the weather and terrain around here. Maybe theyll outfit those Q400s with the HUD and get the special RNP approach authorization.
