Honda jet crash KFFZ, 5 fatal

I know nothing about these things, but is this similar to the Phenom 100s that were skidding off the pavement rather regularly a few years ago? They seem to have fixed that (? at least I haven't heard of any more)

It seems like the original 100 (pre ground spoilers) had some issues because of the electronic breaking system and pilot training on how to use it (don’t let go, let them work)

The addition of ground spoilers also helped.

It seems the Honda jet has a physics problem due to the size and tire type.

Single pilot Corpie jet gonna single pilot Corpie?
If you could afford it you'd have your own jet and fly it single pilot, again, if you could afford it. But you can't so you don't and you crap on those that do. Your aviation spectrum is myopic enough that it reminds me of Todd (RIP or whatever). You only know what you know and what you don't know is actually the majority of aviation. But I like you, keep fighting whatever fight you're fighting. Keep going with the corpie thing, maybe someday it'll hit and you'll be famous.

Nah. If I was rich enough to have and operate my own jet, I most likely wouldn’t cheapen out on an extra pair of eyes sitting next to me. I am not for any corporate or private jet as a single pilot operation operating but that’s just me. Of course there’s plenty of 91 private owners and 135 bizjets operating like that. To each their own.

I don’t get the pile on for Todd. He was actually a cool person.

I also liked Todd, I just didn't agree with him on many things. He thought aerobatics were dangerous, GA flying was dangerous, air racing was dangerous (pylon air racing is dangerous) and that anyone without an ATP had no business filing IFR and he wanted all of those folks to "pay their fair share". In the meantime he'd bought a C421 and was struggling to get it flying due to the massive amount of money required, did he ever get that airplane flying and does he fly it single pilot?

That dude is straight up trolling and getting in fights on LinkedIn. I should remove him as a contact but I can’t look away from the train wreck.

Almost as bad as people that can’t keep politics off of LinkedIn.

City of Mesa being sued by families of those who died in the crash itself, as well as the motorist whose car was hit by the Honda Jet during its overrun and slamming through the airfield perimeter fence and across Greenfield Rd

Lawyers only get one chance to profit from a tragedy, they sue everyone tangentially responsible regardless of anything. Not all lawyers are money sucking vampires but many are, it's their business.

The only person there that I think has a legit suit is the guy who was killed in his car. The city of Mesa will end up paying them a fraction of what they want off just to go away - quite literally my tax dollars at work.

Well, when you inherit the family business, and think it's because of things you've done or accomplished. Actually, that kinda sucks.

I was really hoping his time away had given him some mental clarity. Unfortunately, just sounds like he's destined to die bitter and angry.

LinkedIN is a hot mess in general, but it is funny how it's only the self-employed (or unemployed, for some reason) who like to pick fights on there.
