Headsets part duex

See what you've started?!?

If you get the QC2, I'd be interested in hearing your impression of it. I'm wearing the DC 10-60 and that tends to get a bit clampy after going ORD-SPI-ORD-MKE-ORD-MKE-ORD-MLI...

Anyway, we should be able to wear them at SKYW; it was covered in the last quarterly bulletin. ;)

You can try my new Bose X's if i'm in your MKE-ORD jumpseat on Thursday or Friday as I try to get home to L.A.

They are unbelieveably awesome and I am hoping will let me keep my hearing while flying the 1900.

Their not just targeting the QC2, its all non Tso's anr headsets. There probally many reasons but the official one is the possiblity of not being able to hear alarms, chimes and such. Thats at least what I heard from the SW crew that i jumped with the other day. Havnt heard anything about it a QX yet.

Strange that they would be targeting a 737 operation for not hearing chimes and the like. There are only a couple audible alerts in the 737 and I can't think on one that would go off in flight, except maybe a cabin pressure horn or EGPWS/TCAS alerts. It's been my experience that I can hear chimes and alerts better with my ANR headset. It drowns out the low rumble that makes those things more audible.
I can see them targeting the QC2 for exactly what's been mentioned above: when the battery goes, the headset is dead. When I bought the setup, Mike (Mr. UFly) said to be on the safe side, he normally changes the battery when the light on the headphones first begin to blink. AAA batteries are cheap and light enough for it not to be a problem.
Same trip with a captain using the UFlyMike QC2 we had a fed and our VP of flight ops in the jumpseat. Neither said a word, in fact, the VP mentioned he was trying to get Boeing to work in a hotmic setup so we're not having to rubber band the intercom switch!

the Batt deal does sound like a bigger deal. Im sure Bose is slow to say anything about it, they rather sell you a Bose X.
