Hawaiian Strike vote

I see that Hawaiian is currently interviewing and giving people class dates. What is the status of new hires and those on probation? If a strike occurred what would happen to those in class or with less than 1 year of service?

In the event of a strike, probationary pilots most likely would be terminated by the company as they hopefully wouldn't continue working and would have no protection under the CBA.

That said, in almost every case I know of, part of any back to work agreement includes a provision for rehiring all terminated probationary pilots and removing any record of termination from their HR files.

I'll wade into the discussion for educational purposes. But I thought that we as airline pilots, would want the RLA to be removed, for labor purposes. So that we could strike easier, something akin to how easy that they do it in France.

Very short sighted. There is much more to the RLA then having to be released in order to strike.
