I'm just going by my standards that if a guy is trying to kill me and everyone on board, he has waived his rights to anything.
It does make for interesting dynamics when the FO is the FFDO and the CA is not. Observed a crew like this while on the jump seat - the FO seemed more in charge than the CA.
In my believe something like 9/11 with knive's and weapons could not or would be extremely difficult to get bring a weopon on board.
That's very naive. The fact is, 9/11 could happen again tomorrow. Nothing that the TSA has done would do anything to stop it. Don't be lulled into a sense of complacency.
I guess you are right!
Eh, don't just roll over and say "ok you're right". While I don't entirely disagree with him, he didn't even state any reasoning behind what he said, but that was enough to change your opinion.
As for my opinion, if somebody wants to carry up there, go right ahead. I believe that passengers aren't going to let anything like 9/11 happen again. We've now learned that if you're hijacked, you're not going to end up safe and sound in a tropical destination. So between the pilots not opening the door, and the passengers not letting somebody tinker with the door, I don't think there's much use for a gun in the cockpit. Probably more likely to hurt someone via mishandling the gun, than actually killing a terrorist.

I'm not going to explicitly list a bunch of security loopholes on a public forum. Suffice it to say that nothing that took place on 9/11 has been prevented from happening again.
