Going to India :)

No offense, but if you just went through ATP within 6 months, whats your time. Unless your an Indian citizen, you won't be sitting right seat, and you need at least 100 hrs PIC by DGCA to sit left seat, so I'm confused?? They have a bunch of those in VOMM (chennai) I only see them out at night, loud little Garretts.

=Jason-

None taken!

I have dual citizenship. I was born in India.

Do you fly to VOCI (Cochin airport)? That's where I landed when I went to vacation! Qatar airways OTBD - VOCI

Nope, I went to a different school.

Sweet. Once you've seen the classes ERAU offers to its pilots, then come back and tell me it's not a ratings mill.... how else can you POSSIBLY explain, other than easy-street classes, someone going from a 3.49 GPA in HS to 3.97 in college???

what does going to india and arguing over whether or not ATP is a "ratings mill" have to do with each other?

congrats on the job Tony! by the way, all flight school are pilot mills, some, like ATP, are just more efficient :)

I forgot to mention earlier.... Congrats Tony!!! I have been looking at expat aviation.... Can't find any good leads....

Seriously people....

A former ATP student comes onto the ATP forum to tell us of his new job. Yet some are so closed minded, bitter or just flat out immature; that they insist on turning every thread into a debate.
I know things are tough all over. We're sorry you lost your ride, got divorced, have inferiority complex, or are just a bitter person. But seriously....GROW UP PEOPLE!!!!
:yeahthat::yeahthat:

The same old comments by the same people are getting old....

Congrats Tony!!! Good to hear somebody is getting a job.

Unless you have been to ATP KCRG as a student in the last year you have NO IDEA what the school is like. NONE. You just look like a hater with no facts.

I am happy for Antony- but, when you say something negative, it is only fair to expect a response, (unless of course you are a new president.)

That is a pretty poor argument against a college.

I think it's a very strong argument. People got A's @ ERAU just chillin in class serving drinks (I know people that brought in cocktails lol).

How about this - when I went to the financial aid office to get "financial aid", claiming my GPA was cause enough to get some free cash, they said, "oh well, everyone has that good of a GPA." If EVERYONE has that good a GPA something is wrong.

PS, I hope you realize I'm quoting my own stupid, worthless GPA.

Well, it looks like I'm going to Mannheim, Germany for about 2 months! I got a government contract job working on helicopters! Couldn't turn it down, good pay, good per dim ($200/day), and full benefits! After that, going to India!

Congrats!! thats awesome. What do you mean you are going to work on helicopters? Are you a MX guy too?

I was thinking about flying for an airline in my motherland too, but due to certain circumstances I no longer qualify. good luck!

I went to ERAU's extended campus and it was top notch. It was taught by professionals in the industry, like terminal managers at DFW, logistics managers at Lockheed, retired Airforce, etc... I went to 3 different colleges and felt my education there was better than any of the other places I went.

Good luck in India! It is going to be tough adjusting to life there. There is a big difference between visiting for a couple of weeks and staying for months at a time. I hope it works out for you.

Thanks, but I'll be fine. I was born in India, and used to live there for 14 years.

Yeah, I used to be in the Army. I was a Apache Crew chief for six years.

I bet you and the Big Till had a lot to talk about. He is probably one of the funniest guys i have ever met.

OH and if you need anyone to take care of your NSX while you are gone to india, I'll be more than happy to watch it for you. :D

Unfortunately, I don't own a NSX yet. It's the car I wish I had. It's ok, I like my Civic. I'm off to Germany today!

Ah to address the subject of ratings mill - or puppy mill - as terms for flight schools that spoon feed the information. It's always great when schools can convince the students that they're ready to be airline pilots the minute they are done with their Comm Multi Instrument.

How many of you went to ERAU? Have you seen the hand holding that occurs there? Why should I be bitter, it's not like I failed an ERAU checkride. It's not like I did bad in school.

BTW the facepalm is the weakest thing I've ever seen. Talk about not bringing any discussion to a topic - just a lame attempt at throwing yourself into a debate. Oh wait, no one is having a debate, you're defending ATP and ERAU for some god-aweful reason by a character attack, though quite mild. (See quote #2)

If there was no one who came into a thread to bash/flame it, it would not need defending. As for the spoon feeding-----voice of someone who obviously didn't go to ATP. I went to ATP, and work at an FBO. I spoon feed my students. I was expected to study on my own at ATP. Definatly not spoon fed. Damn Riddlers!

Which is better, Riddle or ATP???

Ooo! Ooo! Pick me Mr. Kotter, pick me!
