It’s cheaper or equal to fly from JFK to FLL than take an uber from JFK to Manhattan. (Or Jersey)

It’s about 1/2 the price to fly from JFK to FLL to take the Brightline from FLL to MCO.

6 people at Olive Garden - it’s a special night- 3 are asking the other 3 to go ‘steady’ - is more expensive than a single ticket from JFK to FLL.

I just searched a one way from DTW to London, UK in August and JetBlue was $354!

Though to be fair, the Delta nonstop was $444.

I'm confused, are you surprised at how affordable it is to fly across an ocean or are you angry because it's expensive? You're an airline captain, sub $500 transatlantic airfare in 2026 seems reasonable, I'd appreciate some clarification.

You're an airline captain so you're obviously an expert on everything all of the time. Except when you're not and then you'll start blaming anyone other than yourself for your mistakes. Report back upon your return.

I’m not an expert on everything. But I’m fairy well versed on how airfares work. Did you have a specific question about the DTW-LHR airfare?

When you stop counting other people’s money, like an envious cousin at Thanksgiving, you’ll feel right as rain.

I don't see any justification of why he scabbed at Eastern. I see his justification of why he hates ALPA (and APA I guess) because of what happened *after* EAL shutdown... but he was already a scab by then.
He literally talks exactly like every loudmouth at an airlines. He thinks unions have powers that they simply do not have.

For my August London trip, I booked my wife and 3 kids on AA using AS mileage, 22.5k miles and 4 total = 90k miles.

I thought I would just jumpseat with them, but there’s always that chance you don’t get on. So I checked AA for the same flights from DTW to LHR….

ONE DOLLAR AIRFARE TO LONDON (plus taxes)!

$1 airfare, $328 in taxes/fees, $329 total. Booked! :)

So now I join them, guaranteed on their same flights from DTW to LHR.

Trade secret:

When booking a basic economy ticket on AA, skip the checked bag fee ($85 each) London and seat selection ($20-100+).

After ticket booked, look for the upgrade offer, it appears automatically.

My offer for the DTW-CLT leg is move to First class for $87 and get 2 free checked bags for the whole trip to London.

(Wife/kids ticket with mileage is Main, refundable, which includes a free checked bag for each anyway).

And the business class offer for CLT to LHR is $812.

So to recap, $329 BE fare, $87 first class from DTW-CLT, and $812 business class for CLT-LHR. Total for first/business = $1228.

Whereas on these same flights, flagship business is $6,488…

There was a social media dude that created "Global Airlines" ... they performed a "first flight" with influencers and an A380, probably lost a lot of money, and no one has heard from them since.
