Godspeed Spirit

There’s a lot of things that aren’t really in the scope of their job. I haven’t filed a flight plan in over a decade because I haven’t needed to, it’s someone else’s job. Same with weight and balance and performance numbers.
Do you still have those skills? Without outside help can you safely operate your airplane?

I’m sure Nomadic has apps for all of that. To think guys will turn down flying these trips because they have to file a flight plan and click a few buttons is laughable, but either way, they found enough pilots because the planes are in Arizona.
They actually have a dispatch department. Watch some of Steve's videos and you can see that a lot of that is handled. Their iPads I believe do their W&B and yes, a lot of the airplanes lack ACARS, SATCOM and, in some cases, FMS databases, but they get the job done.

Yup. They land here at MZJ, Mx tells them to shutdown on the taxiway and asks their fuel and oil quantity is, a tug is already hooking up as the flight crew leaves the plane; and it’s immediately towed across the runway to the storage section. Some that have already been here before the closure, are at death row, in north or south scrapping.
