Go Jet

We (CHQ) were getting blocked in LGA a couple weeks ago. It was only on clearance so not really anything that jeopardized safety too much but humorous none the less. Problem was it was most likely another CHQ guy that was doing it to mess with us. I do agree with Mike though, if you have beef with a pilot group fine but keep it outside the airplane. Policing our own needs to be done but we can't put the safety of passengers in front of our own problems.

Actually, a lot of times, people block transmissions at LGA because right after you block the whole thing, there is a second wait where everyone on the frequency hopes the guys caught the response even though it was blocked... and then I-someone-calls in and gets their request in. Cheap trick, but it gets you going on leg 8.

So I've heard.

I know about the standard accidental blocking that goes on in LGA everyday but this was a bit more obvious. No one stepped on the controller when he was reading the clearance. As soon as I went to read it back it was blocked. Like 3 or 4 times... :cwm27: The controller even said that everyone on frequency needed to stand by. Then as soon as I finished reading it back he would say it was blocked.

Sigh well that blows. Luckily we've got that PDC crap.

There are people that are out tens of thousands of dollars because of GoJets, due to being furloughed or having what would have been their captain slot moved to an alter-ego captain. Why would anyone want to share a van with someone who practically stole their money?! Not me.

It's not their fault that the things are the way they are. I try to stay away from pilot vs pilot stuff because it's completely useless and all that creates is animosity. Management tries to divide an conquer and are having the last laugh right now. I would actually get in that Van and talk to the guy about issues. Really with the exception of the A-Liters no body else is responsible. It's management that stole our money, not the pilots.

I might give you the blocked radios (maybe), but it would be a cold day in hell before I would have shared a hotel van with a GoJet a-lister.

Wow. Coming from you especially, that's a really really naive way of looking at it, especially since you're supposed to be involved with ALPA which and are supposed to be professional. How do you expect to get anything done with no unity? By the way considering that you're a PFT at Gulfstream, it's pot meet kettle. May I remind you that you actually bought a seat away from someone else, not even for free.

For what it's worth, I've now been denied a jumpseat on a GoJet flight twice because several people at the company I work for have been denying GoJetters for our jumpseats and word has gotten around.

I'm ok with that. It's an inconvenience, but whatever.

Unity can only be accomplished with people that understand the concepts of brotherhood and collective action. The GoJet A-listers are not those kinds of people. I support efforts to work with the current GoJet pilots in an attempt to merge the two groups, but that is a much different story than dealing with the A-listers.

Probably the same with the old Freedom A-list people, though from what I understand there aren't many of them around anymore.

There are more than you'd think.

When I was still an FO I flew with one who was bragging about how he had more time in the 900 when it first came out than most other pilots. He said he'd flown it at Mesa, but when I pointed out that when the 900s first went to MAG they were at Freedom and not Mesa he got really quiet and didn't say much more for the rest of the trip.

Busted.

Interesting. I figured most would've disappeared; but they're just keeping a lower profile?

Blocking radio calls, no way jose. Really unprofessional and detrimental to safety.

However, I know of another pilot group that is contemplating not allowing GoJetters in the jumpseat through the FOM.

Furthermore, personally, if we shared a hotel with them, I would not hold the van for them or go out of my way to do anything for them. Before someone gets their panties in a wad at some airlines it specifically says in their contract that they will be the only ones in the van/taxi to and from the airport. Happened a few times to me and other of our crews.

What about A-Listers who may have figured out that "yeah...that was a bad idea." Not a poke at you, but how is that any different than buying a job at Gulfstream and figuring out "whoops". Why should you be treated any different?

Again, not a personal attack, just curious on why you think one is ok and the other is not.

Todd has long since paid his reparations for his time at Gulfstream. Let it go.
Paid his reparations? Who are you to judge that? And for the record....is that your policy on scabs, too?

And if you're big on the whole "forgive and forget" thing, why is GoJet even an issue anymore? The vast majority of pilots there had nada to do with the airline's origins. Hell, most of em are UAL and TSA furloughees.

I see that Todd is now referring to "GoJet A-listers", which implies that it's ok to be a GoJet "B-lister". If that's the case, why are people still engaging in juvenile crap like blocking radio calls and harassing people at the training center? How can you tell over the radio whether the crew are "A-listers" or "B-listers".

Are you getting the picture that this stuff is silly yet?

In my opinion anyone who goes to (and still is at) GoJet is just as culpable as the original group of scumbags who started it up. It's one thing to be forgiving, but this is akin to someone assaulting you and beating you about the head and neck all the while saying 'Hey man, I'm sorry man... hey, I really regret beating you about the head and neck... we cool bro?' while continuing to beat you up.

Nobody expects you to be gracious while you're getting your ass kicked and you shouldn't expect TSA pilots, or all airline pilots really, to be gracious while their careers are getting their ass kicked. After the two seniority lists (TSA and GJ) are integrated then maybe if you have a forgiving soul you could get into that. To expect it before is madness.

I can forgive and even respect someone who got hired, went to GJ and then quit when they found out the score. Quitting a job is a lot harder than turning down a job offer.
