Gee thanks Raven Careers

I’ve never seen a group of professionals that tries so hard to lower the barriers to entry.

Oh, allow me to introduce you to the National Association of Realtors, which does everything it can to make becoming an agent as easy as possible just so they can get the maximum amount of dues revenue. Four agents for every one house to be sold? No problem!

The AMA has done the best job of limiting entrants. Their model should be followed.

Weird, I re-registered (or did the conversion i guess) and I had to add my own employer. No training records. I’m probably doing it wrong though
I think it's going to be hit or miss for a while. I don't remember the specifics, but at least for 135 there's a series of mandatory goals for getting the historic entries into the new system, spread out over a couple of years. Gonna be a huge headache for operators for sure.

Just curious. What do you see? Pass/Fail. Or are there things like instructors notes etc??

One of the flaws with PRIA is that the potential employer will only request PRIA records from who the candidate tells them they worked for. A candidate could've failed or been terminated from XYZ Carrier, not told the new employer about previous employment that was "less than ideal". This would usually be snuffed out by recruiting teams with noticing an unexplained gap in employment, "I see you worked for 23 Skidoo Aviation until July 2019, and you began working for Oceanic Flight in October 2019, what were you doing in between?" "Well, I was hired with NorthEast Aviation in July but was unable to complete training." If the recruiter overlooked that gap, and if the candidate omitted that employer from their PRIA request - it would never be known by the new company.

Now with the PRD system all events are reported to a central system by the employer, instead of requiring the candidate to name all their employers during the claymore mine process that is PRIA. Or at least that is the goal, but I'm not sure if PRD is online 100%.

I suspect that it won't be fully online (I.e. all records available) for quite a while. As I mentioned earlier, my previous employer was looking at a huge amount of manual data input covering all the pilots that have been employed for the last "X" years, including EVERY reportable event, and it will be tough getting all that done by the deadlines. I don't think anything is brought over from PRIA automatically - it's all being manually recreated. (At least that's how I understood the 135 side was being handled.)

You know that happens at my airline as well.

However there are a lot of people that step on the jet, turn left and don't bother checking the cabin temp at all as long as it's comfortable in the cockpit.

If a DH'er is pissed about the air, imagine how your high value customers feel about it.
I always thought that was by design. With the profit sharing and APU police car driving around.

I just airdrop this from the back:

One department: Passenger comfort!
Other department: Fuel costs
Me: "Hey, you two get together and figure out how to get ground air hooked up and blowing consistently cold. I'll be here on my lazy butt in the cool air of the APU watching baggage carts zip by"

That’s the typical pilot bro defense that exists in the industry. As stated prior, Colgan and Atlas crashes speak for themselves. I frankly don’t care what went on in their personal lives. 4 separate 121 airline failures? Bye Felicia! Go tell a Colgan crash victim, well it’s sad you lost a loved one, but CA was having a tough time in life. That is not going to fly (no pun intended).
I agree with you. There better be one hell of a story about 4 failures, otherwise youre just not cut out for this. (maybe the examiner was an X spouse?) :)

I think my arguments are fairly limited. I “get into it” with about 5 people here (countable on one hand). The rest are cool / laid back. Beefy is one of those guys who just can’t let it go. His transgressions are far worse than mine. Mine are basically just getting into spirited debates online in politics, airlines, etc. his crap involves real world people in real world situations. But whatever. I’m gonna detach from his negative personality. Not worth it.
I am fascinated to meet all yall one day. I hope to start there is a Beef/CC cage match with Todd as the Ref.

For me the big difference is I absolutely have zero clue who the guy is. No do I care. Yet he thinks when I point out that he’s getting absolutely dragged for being completely out of line and obtuse that it’s a personal attack?

Yet he brings up • from literally a decade ago while he’s stalking me on the upgrade bid lists out of 3000+ names. I guess I’ll know who he is when I see the one dude walking around with an old school chart case at LAX.

Living rent free in your head. Count 4.

4 (four separate) Part 121 failures? You shouldn’t touch another 121 cockpit ever again.

Captains deserve better than a crap FO who fails that many times at a 121 airline. And most importantly, the flying public deserves better.

You do realize that Raven Career Development doesn't actually hire these people, they help them get hired by Legacy airlines, right? And then the airline interviews these people, and then they decide to hire the person or not? And then these people have to make it through the same training as you, and are held to the same standards, right? Cause it seems like you don't really understand the process.

I bet you a dollar you don't do this.

Just 5 or so people. No bigs. That doesn't indicate anything at all. Really it's not you. It's the 1/2 dozen or so other people. Nothing to worry about at all!

Are the people that didn't tip you for landing at Santa Monica part of that group of 5?

He’s questioning the standards that allow someone to fail 4 separate training events and get hired at a major. I think that’s a legitimate thing to question.

No one is perfect and we all have bad days, but multiple failures indicate a pattern of issues.
