Gee thanks Raven Careers

I've seen a person with a number of 121 failures come out with a very nice job opportunity, but when you sit down, consider the circumstances and look at the situation, over an undisclosed period of time, it's a lot different than what is apparent.

I've worked with Raven Careers and with a legacy training program. I wouldn't worry about other people's shortcomings. Then again I'm not @Cherokee_Cruiser...

That’s the typical pilot bro defense that exists in the industry. As stated prior, Colgan and Atlas crashes speak for themselves. I frankly don’t care what went on in their personal lives. 4 separate 121 airline failures? Bye Felicia! Go tell a Colgan crash victim, well it’s sad you lost a loved one, but CA was having a tough time in life. That is not going to fly (no pun intended).

I think its kinda dumb for you to argue here. @derg friend knows how the cheese is made.

I don’t have SM accounts. The stuff I mentioned I saw on YouTube. Once you watch something Aviation related, the front page seems to populate other aviation stuff. The algorithms at work.

Because this is exactly the case with the person being discussed.

Maybe we'll have a Fresca one day and talk about how PRIA is the best thing since sliced bread to help find problem children, the worst thing in the world because some companies use it as a bargaining chip when they want you to do/not do something and sometimes a joke because some companies play santa claus and sweep things under the rug to avoid dealing with PRIA reporting.

It takes about a Mork and Mindy's time worth of a commercial break to figure out how to "read" PRIA reports and how to read through them, kind of like USAF OPR reports.

I am glad PRIA is gone. The new system seems much better. You can easily view everything.

This is your new MO on jetcareers. Someone writes something, and you’ll make it personal against me by saying “he won’t do it” or “he won’t change.”

Not surprised, coming from you. It would seem that it’s actually you who just can’t let go. Yawn…
Well he’s not wrong. There’s a reason that everyone here gets in arguments with YOU in every forum post. Sorry to tell you this but if everyone around you has a problem with you it’s not them that’s the problem. You’re the reason that random threads that shouldn’t get past two pages reach ten or more pages. You can’t stop typing in your pursuit to be the smartest person in the room.

Stop using logic and common sense. CC needs to be outraged about this!

Why is a guy that‘s 12 years into his retirement gig looking at aviation interview prep websites anyway? Probably looking for just such an anecdote to rage post about.

No. I get an email from these people every month or so. I don’t recall signing up. It’s like OBAP. No matter how many times I try to unsubscribe, the gift keeps giving.

I think my arguments are fairly limited. I “get into it” with about 5 people here (countable on one hand). The rest are cool / laid back. Beefy is one of those guys who just can’t let it go. His transgressions are far worse than mine. Mine are basically just getting into spirited debates online in politics, airlines, etc. his crap involves real world people in real world situations. But whatever. I’m gonna detach from his negative personality. Not worth it.

Just 5 or so people. No bigs. That doesn't indicate anything at all. Really it's not you. It's the 1/2 dozen or so other people. Nothing to worry about at all!

In a general sense, yes.

HOWEVER, there are regionals that hand out failures like rainbow fentanyl to toothless hillbillies.

Things that, at best, would be a debrief item where you sit there thinking "How the hell is this a checkride bust? This smells like the equivalent of a jealous boyfriend throwing acid on his girlfriend to make her unattractive to other men".

When I was getting my CSEL and an errant x-wind had me land long and miss my landing point on my power off landing. The DPE told me a story I guess as an inspiration. He said that he once knew a guy who who had five failures in primary training. He said he's at Delta now. He said never give up, get back on the horse, lick your wounds and learn from your mistakes. Failure isn't fatal, but giving up is. I don't know if training failures in primary flight training are weighted the same as 121 failures. But I'd imagine the same thing that DPE told me also rings true.

I generally agree, but where I disagree with that is, there’s never giving up.:..:getting back on the horse, and then there’s a point where one needs to realize that the business of flying just isn’t for them. Knowing when to ring the bell and take all the pain away……ringing their ticket to freedom. For their own safety, and the safety of others both in the air and on the ground.

My pilot training class in the USAF started with 34 candidates, 16 graduated and got their wings. Over 50% washout rate. Sometimes that’s just how life is.
