Furlough tracking

Just announced today, 10 recalls from Horizon for October 26th.

Supposedly going to send out 25 letters, of which I should get one...think I'll bypass until I know how things are going to play out with the new business model and the new TA we're supposed to get soon.

Congrats bud! You going to leave the Part 91 position to go back eventually?

At this moment, no. I'm going to keep my Part 91 job...it's too much fun and my QOL pretty much rocks.

I'm going to bypass as long as I can, I don't want to give up my #. With the attrition that is going on right now, it should lower the upgrade time and move people up quicker than it has been. I do want to fly out on the west coast again, even if for only another year or 2.

Supposedly Horizon is going to be making some big announcements in the coming months, so we'll have to wait it out an see.

6/24/2010

Comair Mgmt. has reached a decision to recall an additional 48 pilots yesterday, this is in addition to the 100 recall letters send out at the beginning of June. Most junior getting recalled is a DOH 7/30/2007. Approx. Furloughs remaining after this recall 139.
HA! Read this and thought....
WOW! How things can change so quickly in 2.5 months!!!!

You Were Comair, We Appreciate All You Did! (at least that is what the sign SHOULD have said on Sept. 1 in the DTW crew lounge:mad:

Just curious.. what was the status of the ASA guys that went to 'Nam? I take it they've all been called back? Did they have the option to stay out there?

All called back?

What are you talking about?

Our Nam guys just left...40'ish of them. They're on an LOA from ASA with certain rights. Seniority / Lingevity accrual.

Oh my bad, I thought they left last month but then since the company might be hiring a few I didn't know that they'd want to let them go?

Yeah, the company is having to hire to obviously cover their departure - but more importantly - to cover significant block hour increases from both of our mainline partners.

Rumor is that XJT has 3 classes of recalls running in November, and that the company wants everybody back on property by January.

ExpressJet sent out letters recalling everybody, including those who have bypassed recall.

Hang on folks, the train's moving again.

The union confirmed ALL remaining furloughed pilots at expressjet will receive their final recall letters (anyone who bypassed will be forced to come back or resign). Expected classes in Nov and Dec.

So jtrain's rumor from 10/5 was correct, there will be no furloughed pilots at expressjet by 1/1.

Well...bittersweet...

Don't wanna see Jtrain forced back to the cockpit just yet...but...at least that means our respective companies have to bring on board some CFIs or 135 freight gurus to show us all how to really operate our jets.

OR a few of the thousands of other furloughed 121 pilots. That'd be nice.

Don't know how "forced" it's gonna be. :)
