It's still damn hard to find a place open to get a haircut! And the ones open are 2+ hour waits! No restaurants near me are even open, besides take out still.
Most of my restaurant buds aren’t even going to start dine in service for a few months even though they’re able to. But then I tend not to eat at a lot of diner-style places where there’s just Flo and a cook.
There will be an abundance of caution for several months. No one wants to be the place that opened up and killed people. I think we will see a second wave though personally. What that means for the airlines is anyone’s guess at this point. Most of my restaurant buds aren’t even going to start dine in service for a few months even though they’re able to. What part of town are you in? I'm in Layton and had no problems scheduling an appointment for a haircut. I was in and out in 30 mins. Does your barber do walk-ins or appointments? If only walk-ins, then yeah good luck.
It was a 2-3 hr. wait at the black barbershop on Temple St. on Friday/Saturday waaaay before the pandemic that only did walk-ins. With them stopping cutting hair, talking, politics, laughing. Debating who was the best rapper ever Tupac or Biggie. Or who is best basketball player of all times, Jordan or Lebron. Engaging in conspiracy theories. Taking cigarette breaks, lunch. Arguing, dancing. Talking on the phone to their wives/girlfriends. OMG, the list goes on.
That is a right of passage for any black male. The barbershop is more of a social event but also a place to get a fresh look. There are people I know who go to the barbershop and don’t even get a cut. What part of town are you in? I'm in Layton and had no problems scheduling an appointment for a haircut. Second wave? Nationally we’re not done with the first wave. And with how many people think that it’s all a conspiracy or that wearing masks and staying 6’ away from each other in Walmart is a direct assault on the constitution, it’s not going to get any better. There will be an abundance of caution for several months. please get out of here with good news of passengers starting to fly again, it ruins the thousands furloughed narrative.Just landed in DFW. B concourse was actually pretty busy. Not sure if they have other ones closed or something.

Well, there is/was the whole social distancing and lock down thing. So there's that.No offense, but everything said or forecasted by the doomsayers has been wrong or severely less than stated.
I live in sugar house, which is just south of downtown a bit. I went on a walk yesterday though and saw signs of opening at my old haircut place for tomorrow. What part of town are you in? I understand I’m Monday morning QB’ing. There should have been a shelter in place of old/compromised individuals. Other than that, we should have passed it around. I had it. It was a flu.Well, there is/was the whole social distancing and lock down thing. So there's that.
Sweden/MichiganWell, there is/was the whole social distancing and lock down thing. So there's that.
Apples and oranges if I've ever seen it. Not to mention Sweden has a far higher death rate than their Nordic neighbors.Sweden/Michigan
Sweden is about 10 days ahead of MI with covid
10M population
Sweden is 1.8 times the size
Sweden
26,300 cases
3,225 death
MI
46,756 cases
4,526 death
one had no lockdown on had a very strict lockdown
Oh look, survivorship bias. Lockdowns/social distancing aside, I don't know why it's so hard to listen to actual doctors that say it's NOT the same danger as the flu.I understand I’m Monday morning QB’ing. I really wonder if we had just not dicked around so badly a couple months ago if we could have just had most of this knocked out in a couple weeks instead of dragging it out and keeping stuff half closed/half open for longer and getting the worst of both the virus and locking everything down.Well, there is/was the whole social distancing and lock down thing. So there's that.
