Full Time CFI Hours

For all of you full time CFI guys out there, how many hours are you averaging per month (sim time included)?

Same as the guy above, 60-100 hours a month depending on the season and the weather.

Though I did manage to log 149.1 hours one month. The regionals didn't believe me at the interview. Told them to check my companies records.

100 ish per month is the overall average ranging from 60 to 120 depending on season/wx mainly.

There is working hard and working too hard.

This is an example of the latter.
Oh..trust me. It hurt and I hated my life for about a week afterwards. It was sorta necessary though...We had a long list of instrument students to get done in a short period of time (international students) and there are only 4 of us who work in my schools instrument program as opposed to 8 or 9 in the Private program, so we all had to work our asses off. Atleast we got a bonus for our extra effort.

I'm asking because my (fingers crossed) new job will pay a premium for three consecutive months of 71 hours. Anything over that number each month will be paid at a much higher rate. However, if you don't meet the minimum you get no hourly pay. However we are salary.

Ugh...some of these numbers are crazy! 149 hours in one month as a CFI woulda made me ready to commit Hari-Kari.

I did 160 hours last month...I typically average around 100 ish per month.
Sorry to bring back an old post but is there a max number of hours a CFI can have per month? I heard 8 hours a day/100 flight hours per month was the regulation. If so, how did you manage to get 160 hours (or was that including ground and sim time)?

61.195 says "In any 24-consecutive-hour period, a flight instructor may not conduct more than 8 hours of flight training"

Not sure where you got the 100 in a month, you may of read something pertaining to 121 operations.

8 in 24 is the only limit. Just as long as you comply with that, you're good. I've done close to 140 before.

tskkkk..

back log/ fwd log.

knew a dpe that did that.

I never really looked, but towards the end of being a full time CFI, I was getting close to 8 a day, 7 days a week. That meant 12-14 hour days most days.

^ Yep, that sounds about right for the average CFI at my flight school. 98% foreign students with training contracts/student visas so there's a lot of pressure to finish their training quick.
