Frontier Operations moving to IND

Well I will be making the move!!! No more commuting!!!

This is just my personal opinion so take it for what it is.
I think about 5 dispatcher/soc managers won't make the move.
On the crew scheduler side, I am guessing less than 5.

When I get back into Denver Ill find out.

I figured it was just a matter of time.

"The jobs, to be filled by mid-2010, will include dispatchers, engineers, crew schedulers and other operation positions that directly affect the airlines' ability to meet schedules. On average, the jobs would pay about $50,000 a year."

Really?

Well - Just a quick talk with my coworkers gave the initial impression that 4 dispatchers will not make the move.

Again, take it for what it is worth as people can and do change their minds.

Also I know of at least 1 crew scheduler that isn't going.

Haven't heard anything about our SOC managers/AOG folks/Mx Control or Customer Service managers.

All I will say, is check either Frontiers or Republics Website in the next couple of months for those that might be interested.

I would be bummed to be moving to IND from DEN, since I like skiing and hiking, but the move does make logistical sense. I suppose the cost of living is probably lower in IND, at least. Good luck to all F9 dispatchers that make the move, as well as the ones who chose to stay behind in DEN!

Seems like we are going to lose 3 SOC managers and about half of the crew schedulers.

Again nothing definite, just what I am hearing

We'll have to get a new building, I hope. They brought "specialists" in with tape measures to put a new desk in my SOC and can barely fit one in. Apparently, the 3rd floor is largely vacant. Yet, for an operation encompassing 5 airlines, one would think that it might be best to consolidate all operations in a building we own and control rather than rent one from a financial group. Especially if we're in it for the long haul and keep buying up other operations.... right Mr. Bedford? Or, should we wait to see which way the cookie crumbles with Midwest?

Hey Kev,

We heard out here that Republic was going to convert the whole 4th floor for dispatch/soc functions for all but Lynx.

For what it's worth, Indy is a nice little town. It's affordable to live, it's small enough that it's not oppressive and big enough that you don't feel isolated. I like it there. If it wasn't for winter (I try not to go anywhere NEAR the Mason-Dixon line from October to April) I'd consider it as a place to live.

Aside from mid-2010 (from the Indy Star article), is there any more concrete timing on the move?

One of those duty manager type jobs might be a nice gig.

Listed a whole bunch of jobs under Monster

I knew it was coming

Again, not sure how many from Republic will apply for the Frontier Positions. So they may end up hiring for both.

Just as an FYI

Here is the pay scale difference for both, should be fairly accurate. F9 is the higher one

it can be deciphered

it is grouped in lines of 6

each group of 6 lines represents 1 year of service

line 1 - 15.70 hourly Republic
line 2 - 32656.00 Salary Republic
line 3 - 18.23 hourly Frontier
line 4 - 37923.00 Salary Frontier

line 5 - 2.53 difference hourly wise
line 6 - 14% difference percentage wise

Also remember Frontier dispatchers are operating under an ammended contract due to the bankruptcy, where we are getting about 8 percent less. Will revert back to full wage in Jan 2012

Wow, that's rough. I moved from Denver to Indy for a few months in 2001, and it was a huge shock for a guy used to being very active outdoors. I hated it and was pretty miserable. I can live almost anywhere for a flying job, but not a desk job.

The seniority list will get integrated, not sure how that will go. Since both Republic and Frontier use the same union, there are a lot of options.

Could be based on how long with the Company, how long as a dispatcher (active), how long you were part of this union. Well have to wait and see.\\
