Any fitbit users here?

I got one about a month ago and maybe we all can start a JC "No More Fat Assed Elastic Waistband Pilot Uniform Slacks" group or something.

I'm about to buy the woman one after I saw that Netflix might be putting out a new feature that pauses playback when the Fitbit wearer falls asleep. I absolutely HATE having the TV on in the bedroom when I'm trying to sleep!

What do y'all do for a heartrate monitor? I've found that makes a big difference in time spent hoofing-it being worthwhile.

There's a chest strap that came with my treadmill or I used K's Polar strap. Pretty handy information.

The wife has one and loves it.......The boys have fuel bands and love those. Me...I just use the samsung app on my S4.....

and who wears slacks?

I liked the fuel band, but it didn't really have much information other than an arbitrary amount of "points" and no sleep metrics.

I started using the Fitbit "Force" and it's been both geeky and delicious with metrics.

I was thinking about the Force myself but.....No worky with Chromebook.....

Huh … I started looking at the FitBit Force and found this:

"On January 13, 2014 it was reported that an unconfirmed number of Fitbit customers who have purchased the Force have complained about skin irritation after wearing the Force for extended periods of time. Fitbit stated on its website that the company consulted with medical professionals whose assessments are that these irritations are most likely common allergic reactions to nickel, a component of the surgical-grade steel used in the Fitbit Force. The company announced that consumers who experienced any skin irritation would be given a full refund or offered a replacement device.

Users on the Fitbit forums, however, include many who have reported being tested by allergists for nickel allergies and having negative test results. Others state that they have worn other stainless steel based jewelry without any indication of allergic reactions. Alternate hypotheses include radiation burns from the device's frequent syncing, leaks from the battery charging dock on the Force's rear side, and possible lead used in the manufacture of the devices.

In February 2014, Fitbit recalled its Force wristband due to skin irritation that was first reported in January."

"Radiation burns…" o_O

If I'ma wear a thing on my wrist, I want it to have numbers that show a time, not a row of dots.

And if you need points for that, man, you need modern psychiatry, not a biometric device! :)
