Ferry Pilots

I guess you have no idea how it works...

You think my ticket counter benefits can bump a commuting pilot or flight attendant?? Absolutely not! They are waaaay further up the list than I am.
Uhh, yes they can. I was a ramper for four years and senior to quite a few classes of new hires at several regionals under the same banner.

Guess I should have volunteered to fly for the sick FOs too once I got done loading the bags. :P

If I had ever heard of a nonreving pax or pilot doing this on my aircraft I'd kick their ass to the curb, file the appropriate report, and gladly watch them lose their benefits. Every airline is very specific when it comes to nonreving benefits... you are not allowed to non rev for the purpose of personal business.

Actually it is a perfect comparison... it is easy to read and should be easy to understand. In your case I guess we will make an exception. You have zero idea about what goes on the flightdeck of a 121 aircraft simply based upon your work experience as a flight attendant, ramper, or CSA. You are two for two... yesterday arguing about how you being in a jet for 22k/year is ok and now this. Why are you provoking such arguments? Ever heard of the saying "you have two ears and one mouth... so listen twice as much as you speak"? I'm sure you are a nice person but you aren't doing yourself any favors by not learning before preaching. Take a step back from the keyboard, drink a beer, and just read all the interesting information on this website. Take a week off from posting and learn from the really great minds of the people who run this place, post on this website, and can relay some real world experiences via chatboards. You want people to stop bagging on you? Stop posting these crazy and inaccurate posts. Read, take some time off, and come back to join the group when you've shaken your bad case of "crazy."
Why do you people insist on taking my word and twisting? Did I ever say that I know what goes on in the flight deck? No I did not. I simply said that pilots and flight attendants have common knowledge when it comes to commuting and what goes on flying for an airline. Tell me, if you're a pilot, have you ever gone anywhere without the flight attendants? I bet not. So they have the same working knowledge of the airline. Just can't fly the plane. You people just need to stop replying to me. I don't call you guys out and argue for the sake of arguing. I post in a thread replying for a job and your people jump on me.

Just like yesterday...I didn't go in and start an argument. I replied to a job post and said I will take the job. And all of a sudden you people start saying I'm what's wrong with the industry. If it doesn't concern you then back off! I never started a conversation with any of you. All I have done is replied to job posting looking for a job.

If I qualify for a job I get bashed for taking it with low pay...we all start somewhere.

Glad you know how to read! Please...quote the part that I said I can fly the plane just because I am a flight attendant!

Reread it and you will see that I am saying that pilots and flight attendants have the same experience involving commuting and knowledge of the airline. I never said that flight attendants can shoot an approach into Boston.

Some people actually care to help my career take off and are happy to help any way possible. Including not making it a big deal when I use MY bennies to commute.
I'm glad that there are people who want to see you undercut other pilots. You should feel proud!

Just hope I'm never in a hiring position, cause I know straight where your resume would go!

No, they aren't. If you work for XYZ regional and I'm trying to jump seat and up front is full, you have higher priority.

Hope to break into??? I'm a new pilot...not new to the airline industry. Very familiar with how it works and what goes on behind closed doors. .
Behind closed doors does not insinuate the "cockpit door"? I think it does in this case. But wait it gets better!

I'm just letting you know that I know the job...I know the industry. I've done everything pilots do at an airline except fly the plane.
Thank god you let me know that you "know the job... I know the industry." So when you were a flight attendant did you make the go/no go decisions for the pilots and tell them how it was going to be? Didn't think so. Were you the guy freezing while doing the walk around during winter time in DTW or IAD and determining whether to get sprayed with Type I or a combo of Type I/IV? Didn't think so again.

Tell me, if you're a pilot, have you ever gone anywhere without the flight attendants? I bet not.[quote/]

Actually yes... I had the great misfortune of have to ferry a great number of planes without the FA being onboard

So they (FA's) have the same working knowledge of the airline. Just can't fly the plane.[quote/]

Can't fly the plane, can't tell me how much fuel to take, what route to go, how to penetrate weather, when to start boarding, etc. The FA is a very valuable team member but is in no way an equal in terms of training, skill set, and responsibility. Your lack of knowledge is prominently displayed by making that statement.

Just like yesterday...I didn't go in and start an argument. I replied to a job post and said I will take the job. And all of a sudden you people start saying Im what's wrong with the industry. If it doesn't concern you then back off! I never started a conversation with any of you.[quote/]

We didn't pounce all at once... we tried to explain it and you failed to listen. Likewise you are not reading, comprehending, and attempting to learn from those who have gone before you, been beaten down by crappy employers, and are now trying to relay good information to make your career easier. I should back off... for my own sanity's sake... and frankly I don't want to have this conversation with you either but the way I see it is A) I say nothing and watch people like you take crappy jobs and then complain incessantly or B) try to help you learn the hard lessons the easier way and enjoy a great career. I'd rather waste my free time trying to get through to one person than to see an entire generation fail.

If I qualify for a job I get bashed for taking it with low pay...we all start somewhere.

You don't have to start with a poor compensation package, you don't have to break the non reving policies at your airline, and since this is America you are free to tell me I'm a moron. Regardless of how you react or respond I'm done with you for the time being. Best of luck.

You are so sexy when you are angry! Lol... its a good thing he uses his real initials and last name for his username! Write that shizz down!

Totally...made all the decision involving my airplane. I'm the flight attendant. I call the shots....

Wow. You people are still on that? When did I say anything the cockpit and knowing how to fly the airplane??? Are you really that stupid? Or can't understand what my words say? I have clearly said on many occasions that FLIGHT ATTENDANTS AND PILOTS ARE EQUAL IN KNOLEDGE INVOLVING FLIGHT BENEFITS! It's in caps so maybe you will be able to understand it this time. Why do you people keep acting like I said I make decisions and fly the plane with the cap and FO want a break?

And posts where he works. Smrt!

Don't worry guys...I'm done responding to morons. Ill just scope the site out and take the low paying jobs that you are all too good for and build flight time. Ill also fly where I want when I want. It's clear that you are all too bored and just want to reply to me and give a low time pilot a hard time.

That's fine....ill be a high time pilot someday. And I'll help anyone I can!

Its not 'giving a low time pilot a hard time'. Trust me, I was in your shoes too, in fact you're older than me. I wouldn't take a job flying jets around for dirt pay though. The problem is, if enough people have your mentality, my boss* will fire me and hire someone without experience like you because he can save 20 something grand. If I can get to a good job without screwing people you can too. It may not come as fast as you want, but coming quick isn't always a good thing ;). I did the whole regional thing, and pay is sucky and below what it should be, but even my first year there paid 50% more than that citation gig flying dirty turboprops. Just something to think about. Maybe instead of coming here gunz a blazin, you should ask for advice on what jobs to look into with your time, or how we got to the point where we are? Or maybe I'm just a stupid 21 year old. * @CK wouldn't do that, he is a very respectable (ha!) person.

I have 300 hours. I don't even qualify for 135 jobs. I fell like any job that is offered under 135 minimums is fair game to any pilot that is under 135 mins. That's not stealing any job! A guy with 800 hrs and myself at 300 hrs are both trying to get to 135 mins and ATP mins. So I'm not going to get you fired. He FAA won't allow me to...remember the regs?

EDIT:::

And I didn't come in here guns blazin'. I replied to a post for a job and got attacked by others. I'm sorry I defended myself and got people "fired up"!

That's not how it works. And you don't need an ATP to have my job, otherwise I wouldn't have it.... Let's say I want the golden part 91 job flying 85 hours a year. There's no reg saying how much time you need for it, so you could definitely take that job from me by working for well below industry standard.

And by 'Gunz a blazin' I mean trying to back up your reasons with bs excuses as to why it's ok.

Guess what, it's not.

Now let's say he has 5000 hours with 1500 in type 500 of it PIC, you stroll along at 2000 hours,no in type no PIC but the company says you got his job if you pay for your type rating?

bam, you just got him fired.
