Ferry Flights

Ya but do you eventually non-rev back to your home?

You guys aren't grasping what I'm saying. Continually nonrevving from TUL-LAX with NO RETURN week after week will draw attention to you. PassTravel is going to have some questions.
So does AA check to see if the person is coming back on SWA because the flight times are better for the return flight? Who only jumps their own metal? (Aside from the soon to be 65 crowd)

Haha good point. I often fly DL out to NY then UA back to catch the early flight into UT.

And I do it fairly regularly.

I used to also take United to say Atlanta and then Delta to my destination. Then possibly back on 2 different ones.

Even assuming what you say is correct (highly doubtful) what pilots are going to be ferrying aircraft from that specific city pair every single week for years?

I mean come on.

I knew an F/O (now CA) who started up a ferry business many years ago using pass benefit holding pilots. It grew fairly busy.
What is so mind blowing about such a program existing? Its merely a few algorithims and lines of code. It is pass travel abuse and an airline would generally want to know.
SABRE has all sorts of plugins that analyze travel habits, patters, and potential abuse.

It's not a doubt that it is technologically feasible, but that an airline would actually do it, for the various reasons listed in this thread.
You listed no reasons, only circumstantial examples of people not getting caught.

I think everyone listing the various reasons for why they jumpseat or non-rev one-way was plenty of evidence. It would be a worthless algorithm that would simply tie up administrative personnel in chasing wild geese.
