Thank you, watched the video and that helped calm most of my reservations on that topic. Those with scope concerns I would encourage listening today's session #3 of the Q&A. I can't imagine getting anything more from the company on that section during this round of bargaining.
I think if we had an actual form like the IPA B&G we could solve alot of our unity issues. Facebook is 90% by a dozen or so users and they think they speak for a majority of the crew members. Any dissent to that crowd is met with vile that is frankly embarrassing how fellow employees are treated. Maybe all airlines are like this but man we come across like we are a bunch of spoiled children.Thank you, watched the video and that helped calm most of my reservations on that topic.
A little tired of the jetflyers yelling.
Maybe anecdotal, but during negotiations there were like 5-10 very vocal no-voters on our internal forum (non-company but certainly not private). They were by far the most active for those few months. Passed by like 85% or something. It ain't perfect but was a giant leap in the right direction.I think if we had an actual form like the IPA B&G we could solve alot of our unity issues. There is a Facebook group that is supposedly closed to just active and retired seniority list. It probably has <50% of the group on it and is moderated by someone who admits in the past he doesn't care about the union or even knows who his representative is. There are alot of people that purged Facebook so that leaves many out. Then there are numerous fractions that have massive echo chamber group texts. Which I've gathered mostly just • post about the other group texts. Union committee and representatives are discouraged from posting on the Facebook group so you're left with the angry masses dreaming up unchecked conspiracies and rumors with little fact checking.I assumed Purple had a forum like the B and G. Even though I'm 5 years retired I still watch the forum and am welcomed to post. We even have a retiree section. It's not without it's share of guys yelling at each other like little children and it's unmoderated. It's private, only for IPA guys, but it's widely understood management has access.

It would hilarious if it wasn't so sad. Our group only really shines when someone is in need. We rally pretty hard and contribute to causes, well except our own.
Yea I’m constantly amazed at how people talk to their coworkers on jetflyers.I think if we had an actual form like the IPA B&G we could solve alot of our unity issues. No idea how anyone stays on that toxic group. I bailed in 2019 and never looked back.Thank you, watched the video and that helped calm most of my reservations on that topic.

Meh… we have a lot of lurkers on the B&G but mostly it’s the same 10-15 individuals being the most vocal or living out their glory days through the interwebz. I’m still surprised that politics are allowed on there. Also surprised you all don’t have a forum but it’s probably saved some folks from a section 19 meeting.I think if we had an actual form like the IPA B&G we could solve alot of our unity issues. We really need a locked down story section. Even after almost 5 years I’m still shocked at some of the stuff I hear and wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t heard it from several different people.I assumed Purple had a forum like the B and G. Oh it's once every month or so someone gets brought in for a workplace violence meeting. Maybe if we pass this TA it'll calm down a bit.Meh… we have a lot of lurkers on the B&G but mostly it’s the same 10-15 individuals being the most vocal or living out their glory days through the interwebz. Even with what I just posted above it’s nice to hear about what shenanigans the company is up to. Or the great minds that’s designed apps for duty time, our schedules, etc.
Yeah. I learned to ignore certain things and just look for things I was interested in. There was often specific intel on stuff that's good to know about and certain folks that were high level in the union, on committees, that weren't afraid to share updates and info. What that forum needs is an ignore feature like here. I've been told the software doesn't support it. The format is quite old. Probably before your time you could post anonomously on the B and G. It was more the wild west back then and things calmed down when you had to post your name and your pic was next to that. I'd guess at least half the pilot group doesn't use social media (at least back in my day) and a good number of those were just lurkers. Sad that it couldn't be something everyone was interested in participating in. The union had to distance itself from the forum somewhat as it wasn't supposed to be an official mouthpiece in any way.Meh… we have a lot of lurkers on the B&G but mostly it’s the same 10-15 individuals being the most vocal or living out their glory days through the interwebz.
