FAA Announcement AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232

You took the test on Christmas day???? Even if it was the day after, that still sucks!

2 days after, actually... I used frequent flyer miles and I could only fly christmas day (out of boston! a 4 hr drive!) or pay $500 for a ticket... The choice was a no brainer, even though it meant missing christmas!

I called OKC this morning and spoke with Nikki. She told me that we'll select our geographic preferences at the end of May/early June and an email will be sent. This answer seems later than what others of you have found out.
I also asked her how referral lists and AT-SAT scores coincide, she said it's solely by score (well-qualified first) and state(s) (not facility) you preference.

took my test on 04/01...got the test scores last night...i got a 96.3. i was happy about it...the only part that i had trouble with the those freakin Analogies

I took my test in Daytona on 3/28. Score posted on 3/31. Got a 100, but I am not sure if that is tops of the Range? I used the ASA career prep test book and CDROM. The CD Rom is so much faster than the actual test. Also it does not explain what you are supposed to do on the CDROM, it is totally different from the test in that way. The disk does not tell you the procedure of the letter factory or of the AT Scenarios. Good vision and speed practice though.

The disk does tell you what to do. You have to click the help button on the main screen. It then gives you detailed instructions.

That's right! But what I meant was at the start of the Letter Factory it does not give you instructions on what to do as the test does. Following instructions is almost 80% of the test. Also the AT scenario is different because of the pause. But yes if you click the help button it will explain what to do.

Also, spoke with FAA today. Lady told me that we sill start recieving e-mails for us to choose geographic preferences at the end of April. The "Well Qualified" group, she said, would get their e-mails first. I told her that I had chosen Geographic references and she said that we would have to fill them out again. So if you have changed your mind about where you would like to go, then there is your chance to change it.

Hi Everyone!
My name is Jerrod, and I am new to this forum, although I have been posting on a few others for a while. I have applied to this announcement as well. Word from ATCCTI.com is 400 people were selected nationwide for a previous announcement today. Hopefully this means they will begin focusing on our announcement, and send out those highly anticipated geographic preference emails soon. Good luck to everyone.

Side note: Anyone looking to go to ZAB or ABQ Terminal? Just curious.

I'd take one in NY if they offered it to me, since I didn't get picked up by atlanta or savannah

How did you do on your AT-SAT test? my friend got hired by ZNY here on Long Island. she scored a 95. i got a 96.3 so im hopin that they choose me too. its a level 12 so it pays the highest, and ya get a 26.23% locality pay here in NY. i have a feeling that the Centers only take the people with the highest scores because its the hardest type of Air Traffic Control. when did you take your test anyway? a while ago? since you've been referred already.

I took my test at the end of December in Atlanta, I only got an 88 on it... I think because during the ATC sim part I thought I was practicing and I kept screwing up! :banghead:

I only applied for one state last year, so I assume I'm only going to get put on referrals for that state. I didn't get an interview on this past referral list... I don't think I want to go to a Center anyway. I'd prefer tower or TRACON.

Do you have aviation experience?

I did the same thing on the ATC sim. It wasn't clear that the test had started and the practice was over. I remember finishing and getting the popup that said to take a 15 minute break and I thought it was nice that they give you a break before the actual test started. I came back from the break only to discover the next section was starting. Bummer.

I also got an 88.

id like to either work in ZNY, or N59, which is the New York Tracon (also a level 12 so it pays the highest). i have some aviation experience, i used to take flying lessons for about 5 months. nothing crazy though. i know two people who work at ZNY so im hoping that when a referral list comes out they can point their bosses to my name so i dont get passed by

that sucks for you and RCTABER that you didnt realize the practice was over. i had a lot of trouble with the analogies, but i did really well on the ATST part. ya know how they give you the scores at the end of the sections...i got like an 86, then a 100, then a 98.

HA!! I thought the same thing! I felt like I'd been kicked in the gut when I figured out it wasn't practice.

The only facility I "know" people at is in Burlington, VT, and I don't really know them, I met them once when I had an internship at the National Weather Service. Also I don't want to work in Burlington, I don't know (or care) what level it is and I want to get away from this area. I'm hoping for a level 11 or 12 facility, but who knows what'll happen with my score.

ya know you should still be fine even with an 88. somewhere on this forum someone wrote that it doesnt matter what you scored because they only classify you as Qualified and Well Qualified. so you would be grouped the same as me, and people who got a 100. i dont know if this is 100% accurate, but ya never know

I hope so, I'd really like to do this job!!! I hate the job I'm at now, everything I read about the FAA sounds like what happens where I work... They really are successfully running it like a big business! (PS my company just laid off 10% of the workforce + a lot of sales reps, so it goes to show you what happens when you run like a business!! :banghead:)
