Expect more holding for EWR

They tried. Turns out there were/are rich people under all the logical routings.
Same for SQL haha "don't you DARE route mostly piston aircraft over rich people".

I mean REALLY I'd imagine vectors, though high workload, are more efficient. Look at ORD and other major airports where you just send it and turn somewhere. I think that's way better (efficiency wise) than say SJC where each departure has to sit a few mins for spacing since every plane takes the same damn RNAV route.

SBA always makes me chuckle. The noise abatement procedure is literally "make a dogleg to final so you fly right over the trailer park."

Haven’t been into APC in IMC for a while but it used to be that if they had the mins for the VOR-A that was what you were doing. Because it was over mud flats and the ILS was over wineries. That and the LOC 27 circle to 18R at MEM in sim-land are about all the circling I do in “jets.”

This isn’t EWR, but JFK.

Through the ego bruising, I couldn’t help but note the ATC instruction to hold short 22R was followed by an admonishing lecture. And the pilots never acknowledged the hold short, and admonished right back. Nothing came of it. But that’s not the point.

Safety first. Argue later. And yes, I’d say take it on the phone instead.
