Ex-UAL pilot sues United for defamation

I'm actually starting to become curious why @derg booted him the first time. I must not have really been paying attention back then.....

The forums runs in “generations” and CC wasn’t really part of that. I just didn’t appreciate him taking a swipe at another user on a subject he knows nothing about.

If CC is going to be a forum know-it-all, don’t be wrong because I keep receipts.

Runs in generations? I’ve been here since 2001. I remember the big names of ole JC. CF came off as an ass to others here back in the day. He got into it with FlyChicaga once.

He’s around my age. I can understand being 20-22 on an aviation forum. Egos ran high and well you add youth to it. He was to XJT what I was to 9E on the forums. I kinda regret it, but chalk up to age and lack of experience.

Thank you for the history lesson, but you did not come close to the reason.

Don’t use my moderation to launch an attack on another user.

So now that it’s all settled, I hope if the plaintiff’s beef with UAL is legit, the come to some sort of agreeable resolution.

If it’s found NOT to be legit, well, unleash the Lords of Memetry.

If you're in the right seat of the Guppy, may i suggest trying to include the RA in your scan once you flare and have one mississippi to look down. I did this in the Bus and it worked out well. Now in the left seat the HUD is kinda a cheat code to know if it's in the sweet spot or gonna need chiropractic zone.
Is the aural RA countdown optional on the 73? I JS on Alaska a few days ago (great crew BTW) and I just thought that aural RA might’ve been MEL’d.

Same. If that thing ever gets deferred I'm calling in sick.

We had a ridiculous scenario this year for our LOE for 5G interference. CAT 3 into DEN and you lose all kinds of stuff: AP's, GPWS, Spoilers, and the list goes on. We diverted into Springs and I totally forgot I wouldn't have the count down. I realized it at about the 30 foot mark and I managed to salvage it at the last second but almost put the mains through the wings. I forgot how reliant I am to the audio cues when I land Boeings until that landing.

Not just Boeings!

I remember my very first landing on IOE on the MD-11. We had trained with the CAWS and the countdown in the simulator until it was ingrained in our brains. My leg into MEM, first landing...CAWS was MEL'd. The LCA had to do the countdown off the the RA. I was quite a bit nervous. Somehow, I managed to make it work. "Looking long" was the key and letting my peripheral vision pick up on the cues on when to flare made it a very decent touchdown for the first landing I ever did in her!

the complaint is a steaming heap of dog crap that didn’t comply whatsoever with the local court’s policies (to the point of a bunch of “by the ways” popped up in PACER when I called the docket last) and the plaintiff’s attorney, I forget exactly, but let’s just say that he’s neither Clarence Darrow nor Saul Goodman.
