Embarasssing ALPA Magazine Blunder

:D. Haha!

Yeah, started out as a firefighter long ago, and still do it.

Of course, I'm only a former fighter pilot. Am helo mafia now. :)

For all the trash us fixed wing weenies talk, I must admit I was endlessly impressed by helicopter pilots. It's a different thing entirely. Always wanted to try it. Pity it's so blasted expensive.

It's fun stuff. Am a newly minted UH-1H PIC. Definitely different from the older days of the F-117 and A-10.

The Stolen Valor Act of 2005 (the Act), signed into law by former President George W. Bush on Dec. 20, 2006,[1] is a U.S. law that broadens the provisions of previous U.S. law addressing the unauthorized wear, manufacture, sale or claim (either written or oral) of any military decorations and medals. It is a federal misdemeanor offense, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for no more than 1 year and/or a fine; the scope previously covered only the Medal of Honor.

he also stated that he worked for ACA. Since he was born in 1985 and i think ACA last hired in maybe 2003, he did a damn good job getting hired at 18, then taking 4 years to find a job at eagle. I'm based in LGA with him and he really talks out of his ass.

At first I just thought this was a big-time y move, and had a good laugh....Like who could be so stupid???

Now I'm starting to think that perhaps certificate action is justifiable. I remember there's something in there about an ATP candidate being of good morale character....Is this the type of person you want in command of a airliner? Sure he's an FO now, which isn't great, but I definitely wouldn't want a character like this running the show.

Three words that have been around for before 1985 and the professionalism debate....

"Good Moral Character"

So was he actually a pilot at all? :) Or just playing Frank Abagnail?

Now I understand why I got this! :)

Needless to say, I rarely crack the magazine unless I know someone on the front cover.

To All ALPA Members:
We have been advised by several sources that there may be misinformation, misstatements, or misinterpretations in the article "Mature Beyond His Years" published in the April issue of Air Line Pilot magazine.

We take these allegations very seriously, and we have begun an inquiry into the facts of this matter.

At the conclusion of this inquiry, we will take appropriate action to correct any inaccuracies.

Same here, crazy story. I'm glad i'm not in that guys shoes.

The guy dove head first into the septic tank- he gets to stink for a very long time as 50,000+ copies of the magazine hit every ALPA pilot's home mailbox with a name and picture with no room for misunderstanding. He wanted his ego stroked and he's getting the beatdown of his life.

Pretty ridiculious. I hope they nail his nuts to the wall for whatever they can find. Some of the additional lies of his are posted on the other message boards. Apparently this guy had some more egregious stuff on his fb/myspace pages.

Baseops users really take offense to ass clowns like this. They've got links to his myspace, facebook, etc, including plagiarized notes where he claims to be an MCO based SWA FO.

He writes like a third grader too. Poor guido.

I have looked at three different seniority lists from ACA/IDE (1Q 2004, 1Q 2005, 4Q 2005). I can find no record of a him on the list, furloughed or not during that period.

The most junior line pilot/last class hired was 1/20/2003. That would have been before Tim states he graduated college in the ALPA magazine article. If memory serves me right, the first furloughs were sometime in 2004 after the launch of Independence Air in June of that year, (So the most junior furloughee worked for over a year, which also doesn't mesh with Tim's comment about being at ACA for 8 months.)

Yup. I read that article and thought, "that sounds too good to be true." But nothing more until a friend emailed me Sunday. It is too good to be true.

what's up with these bogus stories lately? first the ballon boy, then the Toyota scandal, then this guy. is it the economy?
