Eagle Interview

Just doing a last minute check of all my paperwork for my eagle view coming up. When it says to "Sign in ink using your legal signature, then enter the date of the request." Is this to say that the date I put should be my interview date or should I put the date I signed it (which is what I did).

I just don't want to be one of those people sent home in the first 10 minutes for paperwork.

Thanks!
I'm pretty sure they want you to date it the day you turn it in, at the interview. Print another one & sign/date it the day of your interivew, so you're covered either way. Wishing you all the best!

On the checklist it says to print copies of everything. However, I read on one of the gouges that this does not include the pre-interview packet and the employment packets. Do you know if that's true?

You dont need copies of the packets they send you. Only make copies of the required documents they ask for (passport, certificates, etc.) and logbooks. You only need multiple employment packets if youve had multi flying/non-flying jobs in the past 5 and 2 years respectively.

Is answering this with a "No" a deal killer, even if you live in hub/destination Eagle city?

There is no reason to answer no to this question, so just tell them what they want to hear.

You are not obligated to live in base, and commuting is not only acceptable, it is to some degree expected.

Thx, I'm working on meeting Eagle's recency requirements right now and hope to get my app into them in a couple weeks.

I brought copies of everything just in case; comply with instructions presented on Company paperwork. Better to have it ready and not need it than vice versa.

I'm not interviewing but what documents are required for the interview? I'm trying to have everything so that way when the time comes I'm ready.

If you went to college get a sealed official transcript. You will also need a FCC operator permit if you don't already have one and make sure you have a non-expired passport. I'd wait to order your certified driving record though because they will want a recent copy encase you get any last minute tickets. They usually give you 3 weeks to get all this stuff in order so you'll have plenty of time. Good Luck!

thanks a ton!

From what I've currently read they are still using the MEM profile, takeoff rwy 9 to a hold, then 2 ILS Rwy 18R w & w/o flight director. Is this still the only profile they use for the sim portion? And if so, could some of you give examples of holding instructions they gave you after departing rwy 9?? I've only found one of them quoted below. Thanks, I appreciate it.

"" MEMPHIS (MEM)

Depart RWY 09. Runway Heading to 3,000 feet. Turn left 030 and intercept R-060 MEM. Turn right direct MEM VOR. Hold North of MEM VOR on R-360. Fly heading 360 vector ILS 18R. ILS with Flight Director. Missed: Runway Heading to 2,000. Reposition outside of FAF. ILS without FD/Raw Data.""

Sometimes they use LAX. Youll get plenty of time to study the plate before you go into the sim. Look at the VOR and figure out all the possible holds they could give you per the instructions on your plate.

Two weeks ago I got the LAX profile.

Take of to the west, fly heading 240 climb to 3000ft, turn right heading 290, turn right heading 020 intercept the SMO 230 radial, proceed inbound and hold. Mine was direct entry and I briefed it as such, so I started a right turn and he said fly heading 090 vectors ILS at LAX. He just had me do 1 raw data ILS.

They give you the profile ahead of time. You have a lot of time to study it and think of all the possibilities. You will know exactly what they want you to do. The only thing you don't know is which entry you will do at the hold. When you're in the sim take as much time as you need to figure out the hold entry. Do NOT rush. They will pause the sim if they have to while you figure out the entry.

Don't worry too much about the sim. They aren't looking for who can fly the sim best. I think more important is the checklists and callouts they ask you to use during it. (callouts and checklists are VERY simple.) You call for the checklist and the person doing the sim eval will say "Checklist complete" unless you've forgot something. Figure it out and tell him to do whatever needs to be done.

Lastly, your hands stay on yoke and throttle (except when handing the controls to sim eval guy to copy holding instructions.) If at any other time you move your hands from throttle or yoke you are doing something wrong.

You can even ask the eval guy to set power for you...just start coming back on the power and let him do the rest.
