Drinking Age on Airplane?

A few years ago all of my friends and I were flying AeroMexico out of Houston, and we were 18-19yrs old, and we didn't get carded.

I got bumped to first class last Monday, and I didn't get carded on either flight (Delta). I'm 22 now, but don't look it, and always get ID'd on the ground. I actually met the guy next to me, and we ended up getting tanked and became good friends!

Alright cool, i'll try for a beer or something then.

I think they'll go much easier on you if you are on an international flight. I went to Iran last year ( Air france ) and there was a kid sitting next to me. I swear to GOD he didn't look any older then 10 or 11. He asked for a beer and the FA didn't say a dam thing. lol. His brother was with him as well and he was drinking all the way from ATL to Paris.

I never had problem drinking in U.S flights either. I did see a kid getting busted on a Delta flight but whenever I fly with united they don't ask for I.D from anybody. Just pay the 5$ and Enjoy ;)

Kid got busted for what? It's the person serving alcohol's responsibility, no?

Well He had this big big smile on his face l, He asked the FA for a beer and she asked for I.D . He actually gave her his I.D. the F.A smiled and said wow you got only 4 more years to be 21. :O :O :O

poor kid, I felt so bad for him, He was looking at my beer for the entire flight.

I use that only in bars, but in plane hmmm don't you need to have a GOV issued photo I.D in order to board?
thats why i said it......

Just do what I did, and when she asks for ID, just go "Uh, I'd rather have an orange juice in that case". It's not that big of a deal, s/he'll laugh and then forget about it. Just make the mood light, don't be all serious.

then of course you reply back with, "at my age i am not required to have an ID"

As you can guess, travel within the US is interstate travel and therefor governed by Federal Law. However, once you fly outside of the US (to say, Iran)

Generally, airlines choose the highest drinking age in case of any litigation, however this law is rarely, if ever, enforced. Plus, "foreign" flight attendants tend to provide much more leeway. Basically, as long as the law in Iran isn't "underage drink and we'll cut off your tongue," then you can try and see what happens, as long as your aware of what may happen. Personally, I'd say just wait. As mentioned before, you hopefully haven't been drinking for 15 years, 10 hrs on a plane won't matter. Plus, if you drink too much (you don't know your alcohol tolerance) or get sick, a plane is not where you want to be IMHO.

*For my legal stuff, I'm not a lawyer, and therefor take my advice lightly. Be advised, underage drinking is illegal and may result in prosecution with sentences of jail and/or a fine. I take no responsibility for anyone's actions and do not say anything expressed, implied, or inherent in my post.
