Delta bails out Republic?

Wow! If approved by the judge, the industry dynamic will change even more.

Smart strategic decisons like this is another reason why I LOVE Delta Airlines as a major carrier.

Freakiny Genius. Without Sticking it to the pilots! Infact securing longterm employment & enhancing recruitment efforts for Republic...

Great to see industry dynamics and reactions to poor pilot wages changing.

I'd like to see recent recuritment numbers for Republic.
I think you're getting a little excited over nothing.

Was not expecting that....

I thought Republic was aiming for primarily AA flying. This industry is so bizarre...

From my understanding Delta as a connection partner is a bitch to work with...

Remember AWAC had a "tentative" deal with them and walked away. How many regionals walk away from new flying?!?

You realize AA (Parker, at US Airways) already did this like 6 years ago, for a different carrier, right?

Whole lot of nothing, IMO, at this point. Way, way way to soon to even speculate on what's going to happen, other than the obvious of the 145's going away. Somebody is going to have to step up short term and cover that 50 seat flying.

No idea.

My spidey sense thinks that "Nope. They've learned their lesson and are out of THAT business".

Unless things have changed since I left last summer, Daddy Delta has been rather happy with the Endeavor purchase. They folded nearly every aspect of the operation (payroll, IT, etc) into their own making Endeavor their cheapest feed because they've gotten it to the point where there's very little overhead. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Republic soon part of Endeavor as a single Connection collective. I wonder what the new new name is going to be.
