For those that went through the Pinnacolaba bankruptcy, this is seems awfully familiar.
Read between the lines- this is a plan for DAL to get the C-Series delivery slots/priority that Republic has with Bombardier.
You heard it here first.
http://www.bombardier.com/en/media/...der-for-up-to-80-airliners.bombardiercom.htmlYou're joking, right? They have no other orders than the Air Canada orders. You can't jump in front of the line, if there is no line to even begin with.

I heard that a few days ago from another source.
But on the topic, the bad news is probably that things are going to fundamentally change for Republic. The good news is that everyone is hiring.
Are they going to become another WO?
No idea.
My spidey sense thinks that "Nope. They've learned their lesson and are out of THAT business".
I think it would be hilarious if DL did indeed fold Republic into Endeavor, use all the 170's for their own flying, and kick AA and UA feed to the curb. Oh man. Talk about a coup. Once again DL is ahead of the curve.
I had to laugh when Doug & Kirby acted dumbfounded on why the AAG stock is 'underperforming'. Hey dummy, it's because of stuff like this. You burn money buying back stock, we have a crappy product with unhappy employees, and you make little effort to secure your feed when your #1 stated goal is reliable air service.
Keep in mind US Airways gave Mesa the funding to exit bankruptcy (they own 10%) and continue their feed. Yet Mesa still operates for United as well.

Delta's management is run by an operationally efficient minded person. AA's management is run by a bean counter and operations be damned. That's the reason Delta is doing as well as they are.Wow! If approved by the judge, the industry dynamic will change even more.
Smart strategic decisons like this is another reason why I LOVE Delta Airlines as a major carrier.
Freakiny Genius. Without Sticking it to the pilots! Infact securing longterm employment & enhancing recruitment efforts for Republic...
Great to see industry dynamics and reactions to poor pilot wages changing.
I'd like to see recent recuritment numbers for Republic.
