Lest we forget —

The best part.

I don’t know him or the other blanco guy; my only issue with them is the impression they give that aircraft accidents are something that can be solved in prime time 1 hour YouTube episode. As well as some of the analysis I’ve seen in a couple of their videos that had me scratching my head as to what investigative process they used to come to X finding or Y conclusion. As someone who has done more than a few full accident investigations in my time and know the extensive painstaking detail, long analysis time, and intensive effort it takes to not only do these investigations efficiently, but accurately, and with zero inherent bias. Only following the trail that facts and evidence take you, and only drawing conclusions that have evidentiary basis, accepting that some things may never be a known why.

Sadly, I think AOPA is getting onboard with "accident aircraft are still smoldering and here's our early analysis" type of content. Maybe they're doing a better job that DG or JB, but the click isn't worth the reward to find out.

I think all these "Early Analysis " type videos were in response to the so called "experts" that would be on called upon on mainstream media and other outlets, after any major aviation mishaps.

Those "experts" would often be spreading outright lies and all kinds of misinformation and would often not even have a clue about aviation. Heck, even Jerry was once called upon to comment on some aviation related topic on mainstream media. At least with AOPA or even Juan Brown one is getting the lay of the land, in as much as it it possible, after an incident from someone who at least has a measure of understanding of the topic.

The lesson I got from this is a reminder that vegas controllers really suck.

Seattle controllers were cool as cucumbers, socal controllers were stressed out but accomodating... Vegas controllers went to pieces so fast people got hit by the shrapnel.

Careful, I think there’s a L30 controller still on here

As much as I think all of them are in poor taste at best, it is going to be on the news regardless. At least AOPA is putting out reasonable fact based content. I've used clips of some of them teaching students -- I think it is pretty effective based on the questions that follow.

Dan Gryder: "Derrrrrrrr!"

In other News: "Why are people fixated upon 'tards on the Innertubes?" Film at 11.

In other News on the "Alternative Facts Network(s)": "Dan Gryder goes FULL TRUMP in response to lawsuit." Film at 11. (Hint: NEVER go full Trump.)

Gives one a modicum of hope that this suit was filed and adjudicated in Texas. Until one realized that Texas always protects "it's own", whatever the heck THAT means these days.

This is so good. I knew this guy was a “jerk” (only to get around sensor) from the DC3 incident and everything he’s produced since. He “earned” this judgement.
