daily pic

This was my roommate's facebook status: "...thinks it looks like a beautiful day to spend on the lake... too bad I have no one to go with, and no boat, oh and no lake... well this is a fail..."

So I sent this to him

You're a jerk. That's almost like me when I sent a picture of a San Diego beach I was in the process of enjoying to my friends back in North Dakota in the middle of winter :)

Re: 4th of July

That's a nice place to have your very own island. If that was you with the curlers, bathrobe and slippers, I did see you waving at me. :D

Haha! That WAS me :p! How did you know?! And yeah, I like to think of it as my island, it's just that some other people live here too. They're ok, I guess they can stay.

That looks like some nice geography for a bike ride. I need to get into something like that.

Indeed, love it here. Although admittedly the backroads of southern Indiana were phenomenal for road riding, it is kinda like apples & oranges. Since I like apples better, I will say Colorado riding is kinda like apples :)

Not an airplane, but pretty cool nonetheless.

My neighbor's garage is practically a museum. Here's the cockpit of one of two (which he has both) 1928 Marmon Race Cars. These tore up the South American race circuit back in the day.

And a shot of him doing Young Eagles flight with it...

Did a night XC with a student to KLOT (Lewis University airport south of Chicago) and ran into the NASCAR air force in town for the race this weekend. It was a nice surprise and I was actually able to recognize some of the names on some of the 30ish jets.

My trusty steed: 180 hours in her alone with 230 logged in AK so far!

I do think that the 207 is my favorite airplane I've flown so far. I had about 900hrs in the thing when I came down here to southeast, and pretty much everything about it is awesome except for the tendency for it to get really tail heavy really easily.

The tail-heavy issue is my only complaint with it. It took me about 100 hours in them to get comfortable but now I love that plane, especially 39.

Almost hit Bambi today. They were kind enough to exit the runway, so I came back and snapped a few pics:

(and for you joksters, I had my pistol with me, but didn't bring bungee's to tie it to the roof of my steed)
