COVID Infection Rate, Pilots Vs Flight Attendants

Is it still shooting up? Or do we have bad numbers because of bad testing and reporting policy? The world may never know.

Everything/everywhere I’ve been. I’ve seen 2 people in the last week not adhering.

So just observation then?

Because what the tracing data seems to be showing everywhere is that places that counties that have mask requirements have high case rates linked to clusters where people weren't wearing masks (prisons, gyms, restaurant break rooms etc), and that places that don't have mask mandates are generally spreading via wide community transmission.

You mean, like, science or something?

Sounds like those fools need to wear some masks. Tracing data seems lacking.

hahahaha the related links on that mask article site are hilarious. "green new deal reveals the naked truth of agenda 21" , blockchain, genetic engineering, new world order type conspiracy stuff. But they're also against 5g! Moms Fight 5G In Hinsdale, IL over Safety Issues People's inability to perform basic fact checking or understand what sites/information is credible is absolutely hilarious. Why listen to scientists, doctors and epidemiologists when you have random people on facebook, TV talking heads, and GOP thinktanks to feed you your opinions and talking points?

Thought you might find this interesting.

It appears to be a website that provides clickbait for wingnuts.

I’ve never heard of them before, went to see who writes for it and all of the “trilateral commission“ stuff set off some red flags: About the Staff

The trilateral commission! NEW WORLD ORDER!

A dismissive “wingnut” response yet nothing factual. Did you read the links to the research and studies?

If you give me $50, sure I’ll go back to the crazy website, click the links of its source material, but you have to make it worthwhile.

I’m not saying it doesn’t have veracity, it goes against conventional wisdom and at the end of the day, if it’s not coming from someone with a Korean-ish name, they’re probably full of poop because Corona is beating our asses.

Every flat-earth website is also well-sourced. I mean, I’m more than willing to grab the apple pencil and follow the trial of crazy like I did when apparently an out-of-work American elementary school teacher was took a paid-gig to pose as a senior medical writer for a British newspaper and did nothing more than cite an online poll crafted by a two-person marketing “firm” for click bait purposes, but I’d have to go find it.

But... if we were to make it ‘interesting’, I can be convinced.

If you had read a few of the attached studies you would find a couple of common threads:

1) the study samples were limited and often compromised, "underpowered" as one study put it
2) mask usage effectiveness is compromised without understanding:
  1. how to wear them effectively
  2. how to put them on and take them off
  3. additional hygienic and social measures needed to avoid cross-contamination
  4. cloth and disposable masks lose their effectiveness when worn repeatedly and/or not washed on a regular basis
  5. cloth and disposable masks lose their effectiveness when worn in sustained close contact with infected individuals
    1. additional contamination prevention measures could not be determined in quarantine
  6. several studies did not dictate mask usage outside of the control environment
  7. etc. etc. etc.

That article is picking and choosing the elements of the attached studies to make a point that contradicts the majority of healthcare guidelines, and even assuming everything is correct they almost universally acknowledge that wearing a mask at the very least contributes to a marginal decrease in transmission.

Starbucks in Korea. 30ish cases among patrons, none among staff. Care to guess what the difference is?
Yeah, it’s hard to prove beyond a doubt. But examples like that keep popping up and the downside of masking is nonexistent so until and unless someone can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it doesn’t help, we better keep at it.

Sounds like an alaskan hire :D

I’ve flown with him before. I should have have had “the talk” with him because he was going in for upgrade and I was concerned, not about his flying skills but his attitude.

He failed. So that’s how I flew with him again when he said this virus crap.

I think I know who you're talking about, was it C.R.?
