I'm pretty sure it is this time.

The west end of the runway is at 515' and water is coming up fast. Three more days of heavy rain in the forecast. I'm going to take a day off work tomorrow and haul all my stuff out of the hangar.

Be safe out there. Everywhere is flooding. My home county~SLO~has been hard hit as the brunt of the weather has been like an arrow aimed at the central portions of the state. What we've got so far is nothing compared to the tightly wound system on track to arrive by end of week.

Probably a good idea. Have you called to see how bad it is yet? I remember a few years when there was a group of hangars on the West end that were under water and they closed the airport down. Wasn't pretty. I heard someone crashed today in Perris flying from PSP. Sad business. Haven't checked the details though. Hope your belongings are okay.

san diego is turning into seattle...and i thought the weather was supposed to be nice here in socal :dunno:

This happens every year. We don't get any real rain for a year and then it pours like crap for a week or two and everything floods. Then they report that we are still on water conservation and in a drought. It catches on fire and burns to the ground every year and then the landslides start after the rains. lol Welcome to So. Ca.

Ahh we've had consistent rain all year. San Diego wheather sucks, I thought it was suppose to be warm and dry.

The local UHaul dealer must be wondering how he sold out of trucks on a rainy Tuesday. So far we are doing better than expected. My hangar is empty but high and dry. The runway is closed as part of it's under water. However the airport manager is never successful in issuing a NOTAM.

Frank, that 1st picture shows the waters very close to where I lift off in the C-310.

Because you make such good videos, I suggest you make an overflight in slow flight recording the conditions. Later this week should be a real gully washer. Be safe out there.

I have actually been enjoying the rain in Vegas the past week. Breaks up the monotony of boring Vegas desert.

Should be nice and green out there when the sun finally breaks! Snap some pics and put 'em up in the other forum when you have a chance.

FYI: the normally dry Mojave River has been running at flood the past several days. The worst of the rain hasn't yet arrived so more flooding on the way. What this means is Lake Manly and the lake at Badwater further to the north will likely be full. Look for the desert blossoms come spring. And this will be an opportunity to kayak in Death Valley again. File this under Flying Destinations.
