Contract Negotiations / Agreement

Re: Contract Negotiations...

My husband has heard the same time frame at his work...we shall see if it really happens or not!

Re: Contract Negotiations...

Sometime during Aug 6th is what i've heard.
Rumors also have it, may take a week after that due to FFA breifings and so forth.

Re: Contract Negotiations...

Just got the word today, Arbitration will be done Aug 6. The results will not be released until next week.

Re: Contract Negotiations...

arbitration should be done the 6th. Shouldn't hear anything til next week sometime....

Re: Contract Negotiations...

There's a letter from Forrey posted on SM. Results will be out on the 13th. They are briefing the dept of Transportation and then the results will be dissiminated. My fingers are crossed!

Re: Contract Negotiations...

Sisters and Brothers,

We were informed late yesterday evening that the arbitration award
surrounding the five remaining contract articles will be released to
the parties simultaneously on Thursday, the 13th of August. At that
time, we will put out the award document with some explanation as to
what we believe it states. According to the arbitration panel, the
award is self explanatory.

As I stated in my previous updates, the panel will be briefing the
Secretary of Transportation prior to the release of information.
According to them, that has been the reason for the delay in putting
out information.

I believe we will learn as to when any pay adjustments will commence
based on the award. It is also our intention to discuss the
implementation date of the contract with the FAA; our belief is
sometime immediately after the ratification.

As we learn more, I will share it with the board for dissemination.
The ability to ask questions will remain available on the BBS. We
will schedule more national telcons to explain and/or answer
questions, probably beginning next week.

Anyone else see that as a bit disconcerting, as though NATCA didn't get what they wanted?

Re: Contract Negotiations...

well, if natca was getting what they wanted it wouldn't have gone to arbitration. Chances are it will be something in between what natca wanted and what the FAA wanted. Remember we have a sympathetic administration now, so it is going to get better.

Re: Contract Negotiations...

Here's one of my concerns. They will be briefing the DOT before they brief NATCA. It seems like there could be some behind the doors modifications based on promises from the government officials. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I think it would be reasonable if they briefed both parties at the same time???!!!

Not going to happen. The arbitration was legally binding. They can't change anything at this point.

Who would know? Only the DOT secretary has been briefed so it's not impossible that a modification be made. I guess I'm being the devil's advocate but if it's legally binding, why not show the Secretary, FAA, and Natca the results at the same time?

Plenty of people know how the issue was resolved already, including anyone involved with the negotiations, and I suspect many more involved in the administration of the FAA already know too (I am neither, so don't ask:P). My money is on that the delay is about logistical concerns associated with the widespread dissemination of information this important.

So that everybody is prepared to put their own positive spin on the results.

Your response was a million times better than mine, imo. How is life at Denver Center? I've heard it's an awesome place to work.
