Wasn't Eagle's situation the result of a half-hearted offer from American so they could flow back to Eagle when everyone was hurting?
At the time letter three signed life was good. 24 months from Eagle CA to AA FO.

There's actually a push within the Delta union to get the Compass guys onto the mainline list eh?
If I wasn't 200 hours short of ATP mins, I would apply. I've talked to their Chief Pilot a few times at various events, and he seems like a great guy. All in all, I heavily dislike the fact that Compass pay is on par (give or take a few percent) with other regionals, which given that they essentially require an ATP to apply and then PIC type you, I think is a bit ridiculous. However, if it continues to work under Delta the way it had under Northwest, that could be a good thing, assuming that one actually makes it upstairs to mainline.
You rang?? Yeah I have nothing against the Compass guys at all. BUT...it is true that some, not all already consider themselves above Mesaba and Pinnacle.
Recently I was trying to jumpseat home (on a Northwest Mainline flight). I was the first pilot at the gate, and the flight appeared to be full. Well, this Compass guy strolls up and explains to me that they should have the priority over the jumpseat over Mesaba AND Pinnacle! Unbelievable! Well long story short, the conversation was over at that point and we both ended up getting seats in the back no problem.
The kicker is that he believed that a Compass pilot should have the priority on an XJ flight too...HA!.....:whatever:
I ran into an CZ asshat when I was commuting when began talking about staffing and how ALPA should look into offering jobs at CZ for XJ people who meet the CZ mins to help our over staff problem and help their under staff problem. He proceeds to tell me they have "really high" mins at that he was hired with over "3000" hours. I told him "Wow you are pretty low time then I was hired here with twice that" and then I took my seat. There will always be people that think they are better based on what they fly its just the way life goes.
Welcome to reality! Every one used to require 1500 tt and a couple hundred multi just a few short years ago. The standards were set by the NWA MEC. Big News Flash for you is Compass IS a regional. It was created as a flowback pasture when there were NWA pilots on furlough by the time it got off the ground they had been recalled. The reason they set thos standards is because a furloughed mainline guy doesnt want to fly single pilot IFR every day with some one who doesn't meet a rediculously low stardard such as 1500 TT. I don't blame them. Also the Compass pay rates are negotiated to always be industry average. It's part of their contract. That is what the NWA MEC agreed to. Seriously 1500 TT is not that much effort to put into a career.
However, the facts are that Compass is a regional, with significantly higher mins...
From what I heard...these last round of guys most had internal recs.
I guess you didn't see my post earlier. His RJ is bigger,. ergo, better pilot. Jeesh. What is with you people?
Though I think their high hiring mins are the right idea for the industry, Compass' pay rates hardly reflect the value of those who meet them. $24/hr for a PIC-typed ATP? Not even close.
