Colgan Beech Guys

FANTASTIC.

God, I know im young and naive when it comes to the industry...but

Why does management hate pilots so much? WE ARE THE ONLY REASON THOSE AIRPLANES GET OFF AND ON THE GROUND SAFELY. (plus dispatchers and mx and FA's and crew scheduling and atc)

Weren't you the one making all these excuses about how Colgan was alright 4 months ago?

Let one of us know. We can definetly get you in touch with the right people and get you an interview as soon as you need one.

Thank you. I will definitely keep it in mind. One thing that turns me away from it right now, is I'm short on the 135 mins. By the end of Jan. I should meet those.

Off topic but when I was in STL I saw some FO's I knew upgrading and said the Colgan Pilot Group website was registered to someone in management, D.B. if this is true can't that be used as ammo against the group and for ALPA?

Looks like a Mr. Dean Bandavanis? Is he a Colganite?

Yeah, he had been one of the DE's on the Saab. However, he recently took a new management position down in the 'brain factory' (HEF). Not certain, I think it was the Director of Flight Standards....but I could be wrong on that one.

The CPG is a joke! I just saw they're planning on holding 'elections' soon. Oh boy, this should be a hoot! Let's elect people to a toothless organization of wannabe's. In order to gain credibility as a true union, the cost for the CPG would be way more than our 2% for legitimate representation with ALPA. Who's gonna pay for that??? Oh well!

I find this funny, we had our chance to have actual representation where we could've elected people to get things done around here, but......instead people decided they didn't want it. Now the CPG is trying to organize.....I do give 'em credit....at least they realize we need protection. Unfortunately, their focus is misguided.

Hopefully, enough people will see the light by August and we can forget this facade of achieving negotiating power with the CPG and replace it with real strength.

Huh? Colgan is fine. My comment is more geard toward Pinnacle pilots and having to find information out via an investors conference call.

I'm still happy with my decision to come here.

Ok for the Beech it looks like the bases will be ALB, AUG, BHB, and HYA.

There won't be a plane based at ALB per se, the crews will be doing trips out of ALB with overnights. Hopefully this will be the case.

The crashpad will stay open. We are going to get a maid that will come in once every two weeks to clean!

do you guys know if colgan really comes after people that leave before the training contract is up? i heard people left a month of so ago anyone know if colgan went after them or people in the past?

Any idea how long these bases will last? I was putting the Beech away last night and I heard maybe the Saab is not too far away. One possibility is the PQI Saab stopping in AUG.

I have seen something similar already. On Sundays AUG does their flight into BOS as does BHB. The AUG crew sits while a third crew takes their plane and does a flight to RKD and BHB and then back to BOS. BHB does an AUG turn and upon their return to BOS, the AUG crew takes their a/c and finishes the day. When the third crew returns, BHB takes that a/c and finishes their day. Had too much time on my hands at work and was on flight aware and liveatc.net.:)

Newsflash for ya....you're a de-facto Pinnacle pilot now. I highly doubt management is gonna be forthcoming about the information on the Colgan side if they haven't done it for years here. Heck, Colgan might as well be Express Airlines I 2.0. When PT took over that they were outstation based with Saabs. The only difference is you've got a couple of Beeches in the mix, and the shiny new airplane is a Q400 instead of CRJs.

AUG, RKD and BHB will not happen on the Saab until the airports have part 139 ARFF capabilities.

That's what I thought but was recently told that AUG and BHB could accept the Saab and that RKD was the only issue. I guess we'll know when it happens. You know how rumors are.:D

No Saab in BHB.

The Trenton Volunteer FD just built a Nice new station, and wanted to do so at the airport, But the Airport Manager said they could not build it at the airport, and so they built it off site.

Well you're airport manager obviously doesn't believe in airport and economic growth.

How does an airport manager have that much say? Who owns the airport? City of BHB?

the manager is a reflection of the town's mentality.

why the hell would they want economic growth smittey? its BHB! everyone who actually owns a home there came in on a falcon 50. there is no concern for growth when everyone is already rich and there is no other place to grow.

It is owned and operated by Hancock County, The Airport Manager is an employee of the county, and has been at that position for over 20 years.

Its a "VERY small town airport" that has grown, but is still run as a "small town airport". The manager has a LOT of say around there.

Oh and a Falcon 50 is "slumming it" at BHB. There were 5 F-900's and 2000's there at once, as well as a couple of Gulfstreams. We still managed to not turn any planes away due to lack of ramp space this summer. How? I'm not sure.

The best way to describe BHB is TEB without a control tower.

Puts hair on your chest in the summer.

What is fun is doing pattern work on a Friday.

Ha NOT!

If I win the Powerball tomorrow, I'm doing a big capital investment into the flight school, and buying a couple of twins and making a "career pilot program" at BHB. The first lesson in the Syllabus will be traffic pattern management;)
