Colgan Beech Guys

AUG is probably the cheepest though probably not the most desirable. BHB and HYA are both coastal so probably quite expensive. In particular HYA.

yeah but its cold as $#!^ there. :banghead: the only advantage is a nice agent staff and you can do whatever the heck you want (arrive 15 before departure). even that kid over at MIF who fills the plane up is alright! (hehe andy) just as long as he gets done with college and goes someplace other than CJC :) because there will BE NO BEECH WHEN U GET THERE!

the pad got ex'ed out when i left and its just KB's house/pad left which is rapidly or completely filled at this point.

Airnet is hiring.
Airdale you could get a TEB base very easily here. With 1000tt you'd still have to SIC for a couple months in the Baron until you reach mins.
Home everyday. And I'm sure it's better pay then Colgan. PM me if you are interested.

Airdale, that might be a good fit for ya right there. I know the home every night would sit well with the lady.

Word about how three Colgan Beech guys quit within 10 minutes of each other is making the rounds.

That made a statement so loud Saab guys heard it.

If the REST of them up and quit... Gee.

There's Airdale's message, right there.

No offense guys but they don't give a rats rear end that you guys quit. I hate to say it, but this is the management group that would rather pay millions upon millions of dollars of fines to Northwest than properly compensate and negotiate with their pilot group.

Man speak truth. They've already spent more $$$ paying fines to NWA than it would have cost to give us XJT + 3% over the life of the contract.

I was thinking more in terms of just leaving a bloody nose.

It'd do us little good now, but might be a bullet on a list of events later used to make a point.

actually i agree with seggy. before i left i saw no indication that anyone up at HQ gave a crap that we quit. i talked to some of the guys on the saab line and they've been treated pretty well with no interruption in ops.

i'm still betting they'll shut down the beech by feb for lack of pilots and move you all to the saab. but who knows anymore

Well, school will be done in August '08 instead of December '08 so I'm pretty happy about that. As for Colgan.....I've learned a lot and am definately researching other airlines.

Check out the Colgan pilot group website. I fired that up to read the latest propaganda.

Apparently the Beech fleet will draw down to 4 airplanes by summer '08 and be totally phased out by the end of next year.

Nice of them to come out and tell ya, eh?

I don't think the company is right in this regard but...

This was public information 3 weeks ago. It was on the Pinnacle conference call.

Colgan did send a message. It was: "We don't need a union." No offense, but what do you think you can do that won't be classified as an illegal work action?

Bingo, beat me to it. Looks like quitting or shut up and take it up that wazoo are the only options available.

We shouldn't have to find out our information from an investors conference call or scavenge the internet for information concerning the airplane we are flying. They pitched a lot during the union drive how great they are at communicating and how a union would prevent that. They are horrible at communicating unless they need you to work to pick up open time. Then they will call you back.

I agree with you. Same with base closures...why does USA Today know about it before the crews that are based there with families?

i think its hilarious the guys bashing colgan for not voting in a union are bitching to the guys here who voted yes. one of which was a leader of the organizing committee. the guys you all are talking about who need this bashing are some of the folks working on the saab. except for like 3 guys on the beech everyone else got figured out what was going on and now they are experiencing it. but thats ok, keep kicking a dog while its down.

not me. i left.

AirDale,

Mike's post is serious, and you should come back and respond. Honestly, a place like Airnet might do you some good.

I guess I'm just used to wading through investor phone calls to find out what's going on. It's normally the best source of info from Pinnacle management. Phil's daily/weekly/monthly/whenever-the-hell-I-get-around-to-it message sure doesn't glean any new info. Heck, sometimes it's not even in the same reality. We've got a dedicated group of guys the pretty much listen to every investor call, post up the highlights on the company message board and that's where we get a good chunk of our info. As far as communication from management to the pilot group....it's borderline non-existent over here. Don't look for things to improve at Colgan.

FANTASTIC.

God, I know im young and naive when it comes to the industry...but

Why does management hate pilots so much? WE ARE THE ONLY REASON THOSE AIRPLANES GET OFF AND ON THE GROUND SAFELY. (plus dispatchers and mx and FA's and crew scheduling and atc)

theres plenty of room on the Q..come on over. Its no beech but it will get the job done

Short of calling the Pres. himself or Mary Finnegan (sp?), I've tried EVERY avenue. I'm done trying to get awarded a Q class date. Its a futile effort, so I'm leaving it at that. I will silently take my ball and go home now.

Yes I think I will consider that. Going to see what happens in a few weeks though. Have an interview coming with Eagle. Not thrilled about their upgrade time, but thats really the only negative thing I can come up with for Eagle. So I'm looking past the upgrade and just looking for a respectable company with a great history and a good future. I think Eagle is about the only one you can definitely put a finger on those two categories. I'll see what happens. I need to hit the books here soon so I can knock some socks off in the interview.
