Nice plane except for the lavatories. Makes life hard for us pooper scoopers....but at least it doesn't have the hawker/astra/falcon donut.

Yeah, happens to everyone once.....but unless you have the iq of a rusty nail, only once.

Forgetting to remove the donut and having a chemically caustic urine/feces/vomit mixture all over my arms is not something I'd like to experience again.

Then there was the time the donut on a hawker was frozen and I twisted it in half.....turns out they had a blue juice leakage problem that was causing everything to freeze up way more than it should. Ahhh the joys of working the line. Now instead of cleaning up millionair defecation I wipe my students' puke off airplane interiors.

Boy, If I had a $1 for every time a line guy tried to hook a fuel hose up to the lav port on the X.

Signature DCA had a "beef" with signature lga, so we would see where the plane is going next..usualy a gulfstream, and if its going to LGA we pull the handle on the lav so all the "crap" goes all the way to the end of the line...so when the lga boys pop the lid to put the hose in it'll burst open......they call me mr.sinister..

Yeah mate, one of my fellow instructors flies them in Oz.
Nice piece of machinery, but i would rather the challenger.

He says they are really good to fly, but i didnt have to tell you that. Glass cockpit, the works!

He flies the bravo as well, not as good as the ten though, obviously.

Take care

Aussie

Why do people keep comparing the ten to the Challenger? Two totally different airplanes. Different purpose', different classes. I might start flying our ten in the near future and the only initial negative I noticed is how small the cockpit is. Then again, I'm flying the 35 now and you can't get much smaller than that.

I have a beef with all Signatures, especially DET.

How come?

Went into an FBO one day while CC and the single-point on the Jet B truck was broken, so they wanted to overwing/overfuselage fill the jet. Problem is, the overwing/fuselage caps are really never used/removed. Had JP leaking all over the place, akin to the SR-71, from the dry seals after they were secured.

It don't think anyone is comparing the X to the Challenger, however, I think most pilots would rather fly the Challenger then the X. Biggest reason, more cockpit room.

My problem with Signature is that they are so expensive for what you get. The treat frieghters like trash, nothing like being parked in the back forty when we are doing a quick turn. DET is pretty bad, one because it is Detriot City so you really don't want to leave the building. The employees are, well, less than motivated. And the snooze room wall backs onto the lobby, so it's not very quiet.

Ahhh, I hear you man. Now you got me remembering back in the day. I hated how the FBOs would treat the dawgs like lower-level scum to be tolerated with. Even the dawgs that flew the Lears and Falcons got the same treatment just because their planes were a little rough or whatnot; no mention of what we lowly BE-99/PA-31/PA-32R/C-208 guys got. The snooty FBOs figure, you need them with the daily fuel contract, etc, so they stop treating you like a customer since you're now a "regular"; they figure you''re not going to be going elsewhere.

Stupid business practice IMO. The dawgs are the "regulars" that keep the $$$ flowing in when/if times get a little tough with the "big game" Gulfstreams and JetStars.

Ahh little grasshopper. Let me qualify this by saying no disrespect intented to NJA Cpt. but the C X is no the end all to business jets. It has its role and purpose but it also has its limits ... yes limits. I fly a C 650 and we are currently looking at replaceing it, possibly with a C X. The problem with the C X is ( NJA Cpt correct me if I'm wrong ) is dispatch reliability. I've heard one joke about the C X being the fastest airplane between service centers. The speed advantage of the C X won't help us much as most of our flying is east coast and ATC already slows us down from .82 to .78 or less going into FL behind airline traffic, now on our west coast trips I would love the speed / altitude advantage of the C X over most other business jets. Another thing about the C X is it is the same cross section of our C 650, just longer. We are currently looking at a Falcon 2000 ( the flight dept's vote ) to replace the C 650 as well as looking at the new Challenger 300, the Challenger 604 is pretty much out of the running as we've heard pilots don't much care for thier flying characteristics.
As I said the Falcon 2000 is our prefered replacement, its roominess and ammenaties, especially the accessable baggage compartment, would serve our company better than a C X, but given a C X over the C 650 I'd be happy. Just remember its all funny money anyways.

The end-all be-all of business jets, IMO, is the Lockheed Jetstar. The older versions with the 4 engines.

Ouch .78?!?! I'd rather poke myself with a fork! (I feel the same way about .84

) I know what you mean, especially since Southwest is clogging up lanes at FL410 now. (I wish they cruised as fast as they taxi !)

Dispatch reliability isn't really that bad. We tend to ground things that a corp department wouldn't blink at. I can fly a plane all week with no gripes, or fly one and have pleanty. (usually light bulbs and pax convenience items).

I've heard paleontologists talk about those, but never seen one in the wild.
