It is about a 1000-1500 ft/min decent under the chute depending on the weight of the plane.

That's a pretty steep rate of descent with a chute deployed!!!!! Never would have guessed such a high number!

It kills me when things like this happen. To the two pilots, R.I.P., and my prayers go out to all those involved...
