CFIs Needed

Ummmm, as a faily new Alarus instructor, can you guys give me a little bit more info on this door separation issue? I faintly recall something about that in the POH. Like if the door is opened during flight, it will depart or something of that nature.

BTW Eric did you see that sandstorm thing today?

Is Sierra offering health insurance for instructors on these contracts? If so, what kinda insurance (brand)???

Thanks~!!!!

No bennefits yet. They are talking about it though, but because we are contract instructors and not employees, it creates complications with offering employee bennefits.

I guess with the GOVERNATOR's new health insurance coverage for the uninsured in Cali, I might not even need to worry about it...

Hello all,

It is amazing that this thread is still going, and I'm still getting resumes. A lot of instructors have been offered jobs as a result of this thread. Sierra is still looking for instructors and probably will be indefinitely.

However, I am no longer with Sierra. After a year and a half instructing at Sierra it was finally time for me to move on the the next stage of my career. Louie1975 has volunteered to take my place keeping this thread going, and handing in resumes. Any instructors interested in this opportunity, should shoot him a PM.

Take care everyone, and good Luck.

Eric

P.S. Lots of you still owe me beer!! ;)

First off, a big congrats to Flyguy. Good luck in your new job!

And yes, send me any resumes, and I will forward them to the proper authorities.

Is anyone who works at Sierra still reading this thread? Louie hasn't signed on in about 10 days and I'd like to get my resume in. I have my CFI/MEI and my training was done in Be76 and C172s so I think I would be a good fit with Sierra. How much does Sierra charge if I were to plan on doing my CFII there? Thanks

Wow!! This has got to be the longest thread at JC! I'm shocked it's still going. I wonder how things are at Castle these days. :)

If any of ya'll find out if there is still any possibility of any expat Air China flying after 2 10 month tours or 2000 hrs instruction, please let me know!!! This was somethin flyguy posted in the very beginning, but I haven't been able to find out if this is still in effect since there is no contract now.

Thanks for any info or rumours anyone has heard.

Here's the deal with the China thing. They told us a lot of stuff to get us out there, and "changed their mind" about a lot of that stuff after we were already committed to the job. The only way to know for sure if the Air China thing is for real is to actualy see someone try to apply. However, not a single instructor has stayed around long enough to find out, and unfortuately there is nobody on this board who is privvy to the inner working of management who can tell anyone for sure if it is rumor or fact. Even if there is, it is privelaged information which certainly is not going to make it onto the internet, unless it actually is a rumor and is needed solely for purpose of propoganda. If you are only interrested in Sierra for the possibility of flying for Air China, you may be setting yourself up for big dissapointment. Also, if you can stick it out there for 20 months, you are made of steel!

So far it has been a kick in the ass!! I've never studied so hard for anything, but my hard work has paid off. I passed my indoc and systems tests and groundschool is done. I start FTD/Sim this week. I'm not expecting that to be a walk in the park. My Checkride is the 24th. If I survive the next few weeks I'll send you an update.

I don't know about the LVK campus but the MER campus is horrible and so is Atwater and Merced. It sounds ok in writing and over the phone. If I were y6u I would go check it out before you commit. Most of the other Instructors are good guys though.
