Can someone please tell me...

Did you just say "y'all" Seggy? :)

I wonder how in the hell that sounds in a joisey accent.

Here's the full transcript, if anyone hasn't seen it yet.

They talked about procedural items, QoL/airlines, and more procedural items. At some point, they both give each other some hell (CAP told the FO to "try not to be dyslexic" since she messed some numbers up). If playful sarcastic jabs are flirting, I'm screwed if anyone ever has to listen to one of my recordings.

There was also reference to a "Mr Happy," but it was referring to a controller with that nickname in ZHU, not the other reference. As for the rest of it, I see nothing objectionable and nothing but general cockpit banter, as far as I'm concerned.

...and that graphic is absolutely disgusting.

I just read through the entire transcript, and actually found it quite humbling, knowing what was going to happen at the end. I even started to relate to them, and could see the people they were. Their final words are somewhat haunting.

I particularly liked the FO's attitude that she was more than willing to spend a winter in the right seat in the Northeast because she had next to no experience flying in icing conditions. That attitude alone tells me that she had a chance of being one hell of a good Captain at some point.

As for the New York Post....it's a bottom-feeding gossip rag that has no business being taken seriously. It's really unfortunate that they decided to set their sights on 3407. That cartoon was definitely unwarranted and inappropriate. Their journalism just bolsters my opinion that the media will twist anything to sensationalize a story. What's worse, the readers who can't read in between the lines and believe that rubbish have the right to vote, have a driver's license, and reproduce.

Agreed. Well put, CAP.
I miss the East side. I'd gladly put around the Northeast for a while to get experience. Flying out here in Phoenix is pretty sterile.

To me, it looked like a couple of people shooting the breeze. I know you're technically not supposed to do that because of the sterile cockpit rule on approach -- don't know what you guys flying the heavy metal have to adhere to but I was told nothing but talk about the task at hand when entering the pattern until the plane was off the runway -- but shooting the breeze isn't flirting.
