well, maybeThe 99's should be all over this. If two guys in the cockpit had the exact same conversation, would the reporter had said, "Two men, flirting in the cockpit..." Nope.

You've never tried to hook up with a girl by talking about airframe icing? There was nothing even remotely flirtatious in the content of the CVR transcription from the NTSB website.
...why is it I've read in more than a couple of newspapers (or clips) that Captain Renslow and FO Shaw were "flirting." Did people read a different transcript from the CVR than I and most other people did? Has anyone else seen this in their local papers? Where do so-called reporters draw these conclusions from? Sadly, I know today's "journalists" resort to sensationalism and outright lies to hype their stories, but seriously, WTF? :banghead:

the greater response the better as far as they are concerned, unless the response is legal action. So those of you who read these papers will be sending in letters to the editor and making phone calls to the paper demanding an explanation from them on why they injected "flirting" into this disaster, even when it is clear from the CVR that it was not the case....

It doesn't even make sense.

So do we go to ALPA (ehem, Seggy!!!) and ask them to file a defamation lawsuit on behalf of the deceased crewmembers, requiring monetary damages and a retraction?
That would be justice.
ALPA's attorney's deal with labor, FAA, and other issues related to our day to day job.
Defamation lawsuits are not their expertise and outside of their scope.
