Sometimes. Guy I work with told someone in the pattern he was following a Regional Jet on final. The jet came on and said "ummm....we're an Embraer Jet..."
For some reason, I've noticed that ATC will refer to the CRJ as "regional jet" or "RJ", while the ERJ is called "Embraer".
