Brazilian copy of the Cirrus

IMHO, this is the best thing the Brazilians ever made.

Yes it has an SRS.

The success of the Embraers is largely due to stealing designs from other airplanes. The Brazilian Navy got the Pilatus P3s (the piston trainer on wich the PC7/T-6 Texan is based) couple years later Embraer comes out with the Tucano, at their museum they claim they invented the Ram Yoke, while post war British airplanes already had them. Neiva is an other Brazilian brand known for copying designs, from the Taylorcraft to the Airtractor...

it`s not only with airplanes but with cars too:

Its a Geep!

Somebody tell TheFlyingTurkey to stop having different accounts to rail against things. First, conspiracy theory's, then anything Brazilian. Glad people have nothing better to do than surf the internet for things to try to stir the pot.

At least GA aviation is growing up at giant paces in Brazil and not drying up like in the U.S.

It`s hasn`t really grwon that much, it has just switched from being mainly rural to business and executive transportation. Same thing with the airlines, they moved from being commuter/regional to mainland and international. The number of planes and jobs has been really similiar for the past 30 years, there are a lot more passengers to be flown and the planes to do the same routes got bigger. There is only one cmpany that still uses ERJ, there is no more market for them, ATRs are still used due to the fact that Brazil has so many big cities all over the places, with pretty small airports with short runways.

The only real increase are the number of helicopters, no other country in the world has so many civilian reg helos.

In the US they always complain about their GA, guys! try to travel a bit around the world and see how GA is there, you will be more then happy of what you still have in the US!

Countries who copy US products from construction equipment to aircraft and claim them as their own should join forces. Ohhh, they just did!

Brazil in trade pact with China, sees aviation gains

* Accords to help Embraer assemble jets in China

* China is Brazil's largest single trading partner

* Growth in both economies is losing steam abruptly (Recasts to add comments, background, details on Embraer throughout)

By Rodrigo Viga Gaier

RIO DE JANEIRO, June 21 (Reuters) - Brazil and China on Thursday signed a handful of trade agreements aimed at boosting investment and commerce flows for the coming decade, at a time when economic growth in both emerging market powerhouses is losing momentum abruptly.

China, the world's second largest economy, is Brazil's biggest export market, and Brazil officials hailed the accord as critical to the South American country's growth.

Under the agreements signed by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, relations between the nations will rise to the status of a "global strategic partnership," highlighting their growing influence in the global economy.

Rousseff and Jiabao, who is in Brazil to attend the U.N. Rio+20 sustainable development summit, also agreed upon a common agenda of investments in the mining, industrial, aviation and infrastructure sectors that should encourage commerce flows between the two nations.

Jackie Chan is Embraer`s ambassador, he has been flying is legacy all over the place...his airplane has been painted to commemorate the year of the dragon.

But Embraer does have a facility in the US, in KMLB, that`s were the full line of smaller biz jet is going to be assembled (Phenom,..)

You're insane! What the hell are you picking on me for? I'm not even involved in this topic. since when do I post anything about conspiracy theories? I think you've got me confused with Qutch.

My bad, I did. Still was sarcasm. The threads on conspiracy theories and politics seems to dominate the whole forum now, rather than just the lav.

Columbia/Cessna 350/400 inside for sure...Cirrus outside. The two blade prop is just awful!

Brazil has instituted protectionist policies that limit imports into their country and encourage domestic manufacturing. They also have large import tariffs on US imported products. Look what a C152 will sell for down there - a huge majority of that cost are due to import tariffs.

Same crap with China (~22% tax on imports from US, we tax their imports ~2%) yet we gladly sign "free trade" agreements with them, so save a couple thousand jobs at places like CAT.

What makes an airplane safe is the pilot.
You think? ;) To be fair, the airplanes do meet the appropriate certification requirements too...

Specific to the EMB-135/-135KL/-145LR, they're throwaway airplanes that are now high time, high cycle. (There are Brasilia parts all over that airplane too.) OF COURSE they aren't going to be as awesome as they were new. Can't speak for the 170/190 or the -500.

Long live the Bro, though.
