**Big News For February Applicants**

Did anyone get their second choice sent to them?

My first pick was VA (northern VA specifically, terminal or en route)
Second choice was WV (terminal was only choice)

I got the Employment Inquiry for WV..... I really wanted VA (first choice)

I'm thinking of calling to see why the second choice? Please give me some of your opinions. What would you all do?
I would take what you were offered and look at transferring a few years from now. If you didn't want it, why'd you put it? I only selected one choice, not two, cause I only wanted to go to one state.

:yeahthat: The FAA only lets you choose two states now so people wouldn't select a bunch of states they don't really want to go to... I'd just take WV now since it's not that far from where you want to be and see if you can transfer later.

Nothing for me yet... Grrrrr (I put terminal only):panic:

The suspense is killing me. I'm going to be checking my email like a madman!!!!

Congratulations. You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the (ZLA) Los Angeles ARTCC.

CA was my second choice, AZ was my first.

I'm happy with what I got, but im not sure if Center is a good place to start at.

Good luck to everyone, I hope you get what wanted!:)

ATLTRACON has said several times that centers are basically prepared to train new hires and towers and TRACONs are not... so I think starting at a center is going to be fine if it's what you wanted in the first place :)

Wait, wouldn't it be the other way around? Wouldn't towers be the place to start as a new hire, then progressing to a TRACON or center?

I wouldn't trust a thing that guy has to say.:panic:

What I have said in NUMEROUS other threads is this. The ARTCC environment is the best place to start. They are set up to train someone who has never spoken to an aircraft in their life. Other than that a mid-level IE lvl 7-9 is the next best place. Progressing from a tower to a TRACON/ARTCC is more difficult, but certainly not impossible. But is is more difficult because you have not had any radar experience to date.

Ah, ok that makes more sense. My first choice was Seattle TRACON so I guess I'm starting backwards but it's a level 10.

VIA ASAP or email or?

I got mine as well for Kansas City Center ARTCC, which was my first choice. They gave me the options of attending the PEPC in NY, Memphis, or Chicago. NY is too far for me to drive & the one in chicago is during the week my wife is due to have baby #2, so it looks like I'm headed for Memphis. I selected the enroute option only, my friend selected both enroute & terminal, he also got KC Center. We were both well qualified on the AT-SAT. About how long after the PEPCs does it take to get your FOL? Then I'm guessing it's just a matter of when the next set of classes begin at OKC.

Did everyone receive the notification via email or was it on ASAP? I just checked ASAP & didn't see anything yet.:(

ASAP will not be used for anything else in this process. It's all done via email or phone after the referral list.
