Bangor Maine - private jet w/8 crash

Sure, but doesn’t do much good when you call the iceman at :17 but don’t actually take off until :44

Again, it depends on the fluid.

Cryotech Polar Extend 20-40 min
“ ” Advance 10-35 min
Clariant SW MP 6-20 min

I flew into BGR many times on the CRJ, I just don’t recall what type IV they had.

I can't imagine the flaps not at 20°. The Challengers have a configuration warning that includes brakes, flaps, autopilot, spoilers, and stab trim.
Agreed but doesn’t look like flaps 20 in the pics I’ve seen. Not saying that’s its just potentially a contributing factor

Configuration warnings depend on a lot of inputs (and those inputs are as likely to fail as any other input) and should be considered as a back up to remind you if you forgot something, and because they can fail it's still up to you. The G-IV that ran off the runway with the gust lock on a few years ago comes to mind. I'm not trying to feed into a conspiracy about this airplane not being correctly configured for take off, I'm just saying it's the pilots job to never hear the warning because everything is properly configured when the levers go to full power.
True, a fault is always a possibility. With the abundance of sensors for these flaps I would be surprised that they were all failed.

“Look up where”

And this is how I know you have only essentially done one job in aviation before.

Yes, 121 jobs only.

A glance at the vendor website through airnav shows type I and IV. I didn’t see a specific type of type IV.

In my CRJ experience from 2007-2012 I’d been to BGR several times and deiced there. I just don’t recall what Type IV it was. What do recall is a lot of places I went, it was Clariant Safewing which was even better than generic type IV. DTW at the time was Clariant SW.

Not to get too picky, but the time one calls iceman is irrelevant. What time did the start of type IV application commence - to - the time of takeoff. That’s what matters.

I’d be surprised if a place like Bangor only has generic type IV fluid.

What matters is if the fluid has failed or not.

You can be within your holdover time, but if it’s lost effectiveness, thats what matters.

If there’s ANY question, pre-takeoff contamination check. If any lingering doubt then, [PA ALL] “Well everyone, we have bad news…”

I’m not sure I could do a good job pressure-washing my driveway at night. De-ice at night with wind and snow always looks kinda sketchy.
