You know if that taxi driver has a lump of coal up his rectum at that moment he would have a very nice diamond for his wife (or significant other) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's another dash cam video. The original video posted on page 1 was from the silver vehicle ahead in this video. Crazy how much footage there is of this already.
from the second car
Until the official accident report is released, we shouldn't speculate on the role of this vehicle in this crash or the guilt or innocence of its driver."Dad? Yeah, it's me. Yeah, look, the car is a little bit dinged up. What? No, IT WASN'T MY FAULT! I SWEAR!"
Looks like they had it under control just a few seconds before it rolled. Maybe tried to stretch the glide to miss the bridge at the end. That's a shame. Probably would have been been fewer casualties if they hit the river under control.
Why would they be trying to "stretch the glide" in a large turboprop certified for airline ops? Should be absolutely no need for that...

Maybe they had visions of Sully in their heads and those buildings frustrated their plan.I'm thinking they saw the wires at the last second, yanked back, bled off the airspeed, and away they went.

Some of you guys have obviously never trained in a Piper Apache. If the operating engine is, for whatever the reason, not getting the job done - keep adequate airspeed to maintain control and minimize rate of descent. If their plan was to shoot for the river and late in the game they realized they were going to undershoot, they may have indeed tried to "stretch the glide".
The resulting deceleration could have resulted in a VMC roll.
This is all wild speculation of course. I'm practicing to interview for a job as CNN aviation expert.
