ASA/ExpressJet

So let me understand you. You think it's my job, along with the vast majority of other non-lifers, to contort and concede our livelihood to support the super senior, lack of foresight, captains at regional carriers?

I didn't see him say that. But you shouldn't expect a super senior lifer at a regional to vote for your ideals while screwing himself over, either.

Oh I don't expect that at all. What I do expect though is to have a vote and the members vote in a way that the majority see fit. That is what this process is set up for.

Why are you asking me that question? You need to be asking amorris311 or Screaming_Emu!

I know.

Pilots like to act all hard but when push comes to shove they usually take a deal. Or act hard but don't volunteer and bitch and moan on how awful their union is.

Volunteering is not as easy as you make it sound. I was a P2P at Pinnacle while I was there. I came to ExpressJet and told them I would help and was told they don't need me. So according to you since I don't volunteer I can't critize my union. They get our dues whether we volunteer or not we have a right to complain about what they do.

What side of the house are you on over there?

The worst part is voting yes to that turd and then finding another job in just a few months. That's like renovating your bathroom before scheduling the demolition crew....
So your sayin don't try to get out but stay at pinnacle? Riiiiiight gotcha

And of course Saban Is a hell of a coach! Just god awful boring to watch. Can't argue with results though. What year did u graduate from bama?

No

I think everyone should leave the regionals. I hate the very idea of regionals. That's why I'm so opposed to lowering the bar at the regionals even more.

And I'm not a sidewalk alumni if that's what you're inferring. I'd be happy to talk football with any other time.

No, if they say they don't need you that is horse manure (providing you are off probation). I'd be recalling the LEC Reps if you were told that.

Volunteerism is high at some companies. Commonly the union will send out an e-mail stating vacancies for various positions and request applicants to forward resumes for the positions that are open. Just because you raise your hand and say you're interested doesn't mean there's a position available.

Not smart to run it that way as you should always be training your replacement. ESPECIALLY at a regional.

The race to the bottom is a much more complicated issue than just one single airline lowering the bar....BUT with that said, Gun to their heads or not the Pinnacle Contract (for the immediate term) has put significant pressure on the remaining regionals. But it certainly didn't start with them. EVERY ONE for the most part has some dirt on them that has made us come to this outcome. Republic pilots fly 99 seat airplanes for $37 an hour, Go Jet Pilots work for a crap contract at an airline specifically created to screw TSA, Eagle Approves concessions, Mesa Lowers the bar and Never Dies, Great Lakes pays professionals 12k a year, XJT approves 70 seat rates for a $2 over ride with our pants down....the list goes on and on. XJT management asking for concessions is not surprising and their stated reasons are probably reality. We are more expensive than airlines with a max pay rate at 5 years and airlines re-organized out of bankruptcy. I think this is a fact unfortunately. But I can tell you this. God himself could not make me vote yes to taking pay concessions from a job that pays me Full-Time Subway worker wages. If this place goes under than ill do something else. This job is a JOB and not my ENTIRE life.

The XJT large RJ rate was handed down by an arbitrator, not negotiated, nor approved by the union.

We are DEFINITELY not happy about this.
